When will this government remember its human rights obligations? Is Ms Mahmood a barister? She doesn't recognise the UK signatory to the Eurepean Convention of Human Rights with Ms Phillipson & PM. They have been destroying trans children, adults & families. Is this the Labour gov. or conservatives?

Woah! So Labour's position really is, 'telling us off for breaching human rights undermines the case for human rights'? Proper Trumpian stuff from Labour's answer to Suella Braverman.

Quite a bodying, here, for the UK, from the Commissioner for Human Rights, Council of Europe.

🏮 He points out the Supreme Court ignored human rights (which breaches its legal obligations)
🏮 He says, in effect agreeing with Lucy Powell, Parliament should be involved...

The Supreme Court decision is “clear”.

A clear breach of trans people’s human rights:

Read my two letters to the #UK:
1. Protests: I call for a review of the legal framework and the reconsideration of provisions in the Crime & Policing Bill that could restrict freedom of assembly.
2. Trans people: I warn against exclusion&zero-sum approaches

🏮 He thinks the direction of travel in the UK will breach its human rights obligations in multiple respects - pushing trans people into an 'intermediate zone' and jeopardising their right to be treated with dignity and to be able to participate in all areas of everyday life...

Thanks. Very helpful for reminding the UK courts & and government, they have to work within the framework of the international&EU Convention of Human Rights. You rightly refer to lived experiences&no place for immidate/third space. The govt. is well connected with hate groups:Sex Matters(Ref:FoI)

"There's a heated debate" apparently.

This was the pre-selection hearing for Falkner in 2020. This appears to be ground zero.

I think anti abortion, anti-LGBT+ rights & contraception bans are all related. The Heritage Project 2025, Christian Concern, all fundamental Christian groups in the US have been well conteted with unlimited finances. I advise you to read the book entitled Bodies under Siege by sian Norris.
