The Tiger Sport 800 is pleasantly feisty for a, uh, sport tourer? Tallrounder? Modern standard? Anyway, there's defs some significant Street Triple DNA in this bike.

"rich people went insane because their own kids couldn't cut it in even in the half-assed version of 'meritocracy' where rich kids are merely handed dozens of advantages rather than guaranteed success" explains a lot of how we got here
Everyone’s got their theory on why he hates universities, and mine is 80% Rich Guy College Admissions Madness. Marc’s complained about accommodations on testing, he’s a wealthy Bay Area man, he probably has a few friends whose kids have gone through it now, it’s *the* game for America’s Wealthy.
Marc Andreessen really, really hates universities, which seems to be a pretty common sensibility from billionaires who have spent too much time online. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/18/o...

trump is not a genius, unless you consider "persisting in lies until all opposition collapses in exhaustion" which makes all 5 year old geniuses. most of us grow out of that; he did not.

Since tariffs, I noticed a surprising trend: elite Trump supporters saying they might have made a mistake. So I asked them what they were thinking, both in November and today.
One big takeaway: they thought Elon was actually competent. That error proved catastrophic.

Some elite Trump supporters are having regrets. We asked them why.
After the tariffs, they’re worried they made a MAGA mistake.

1. A new poll shows a massive opposition to government censorship of transgender people happening now.
It also shows heavy opposition to the impacts of Trump's anti-trans executive orders... the military ban, teacher investigations, and trans youth care ban.

When you decide you don't wanna be the party of organized labor anymore because you see more potential in being the party of middle management, it's no suprise that the rhetoric of organizing gives way to the (empty, meaningless, circular) rhetoric of middle management.
It's interesting because in my union, we talk *all the time* about rejecting the premise of questions that have bullshit framing, but Dem types like this always just assume the question's premise is right and their opponents are operating in good faith.
“We preface everything with an admission that our opponents are right and somehow we’re losing the messaging war. We don’t understand why this isn’t working.”

In my conversations with mildly concerned conservative acquaintances and family, there's a strange acceptance of these circumstances as basically a mildly unfortunate under the assumed but apparently fundamental American notion that "winner takes all".

If you want to understand why so many cis people who don't even really know trans people are in a full-blown panic over something that doesn't affect them, that's why. Their real anger is over changing gender roles, especially growing acceptance that women aren't biologically inferior to men.

Just keep breathing and observe as events unfold. People in your life will begin looking to those who are clear-minded and calm to help them understand what is going on. Suspend judgment. But do not ignore the chance to have a material impact.

The Aprilia Tuono 660 (Factory model) is such a goddam joy to ride, especially after a tune to kill the 5-6K flat spot. Just total immersion in riding, and it's so well appointed even an old man like me can feel an absolute hoon.
