Happy birthday #physicist Chien-shiung Wu (1912-1997), who came up with a truly beautiful experiment to test whether the weak force conserves parity (whether beta decay would be the same if reflected in the mirror)! 🐡🧪👩🏻‍🔬#histsci In my print on the left I show Wu in her lab & a schematic diagram of 🧵
Linocut print of Chien-shiung Wu in indigo wearing a lab coat and holding a schematic diagram of her famous violation of parity experiment (in blue and indigo) on the left side. The right side shows the mirror image except in the schematic diagram. The left side schematic shows a C shaped electromagnet open to the left. The top is labeled S, the bottom is labeled N and the middle is wrapped in wire drawn as a circuit diagram schematic with parallel lines to indicate a power source and left arrow on top wire, right arrow on bottom. Between the poles of the magnet is a big blue dot to designate Cobalt-60 with many tiny dots as beta-decay electrons, the majority going downwards to N pole. On the right, everything is flipping except most electrons go upwards (and and N and S poles are flipped).
I thought the first one was fun!
My son and I were yelling for timeouts with about 4 minutes to go. Then Buffalo should've kicked the FG when Allen went out of bounds after that long scramble. It was a poorly managed game by McDoofus.
Your first place New England Patriots!!!
Great post for Indigenous People's Day, or Canadian Thanksgiing (I think).
Because I still find people who don't know how the story ends:

Christopher Columbus was returned to Spain in chains in 1500 AD, convicted of barbaric torture of colonists, but released 6 weeks later by order of King Ferdinand II.

Neither he nor his brothers ever governed a Spanish holding again.
Christopher Columbus awaits sentencing in jail.
The Refs in this Pats game are horrible. Like spectacularly bad.
Love the Snark.
This crew is horrible. Somebody check their Fanduel account please...
The 'ch' sound is tough for those who were never taught hebrew. I tend to add it randomly to middle eastern words too, like 'ch'ummus.
Does anyone else add random amounts of 'k's and 'n's when spelling hannukkah?

No need to be ad hominem. I am not trolling. But, if you can't explain, that's fine.
I never said pollution and human-induced environmental changes were good. I am more of a Gaia-ist. From a planetwide view, change happens, and the coming and goings of species is part of life. Is this a simplistic view, maybe? Would you care to explain further? I am looking to be educated.
This may be an ignorant take, but this has been going on for millions of years. It's evolution, right? Environments change, animals adapt or go extinct. This means that the Lowbrow Tangle-webbed Booby (OK, I made that one up) can take over that niche. Evolution is cool, extinction is part of it.
Even weirder if it isn't Runaway Train...
This. If they are looking for flash over substance in the end its a toxic culture. Best to avoid those early. I can tell you first hand what working at a company like that will do to you.
Hey Boston Sports Peeps, what websites do you use to follow the local teams? #NESN is poorly written, not-copy-edited clickbait mostly and CBSsports is all on betting. I haven't read ESPN in years. Looking for (ideally) 1. free, and 2. good quality.
Wait I thought MangoMussolini was going to win...
