95 RapidBus not very rapid on Goldstream. Bus only lane should be a no-brainer here, especially with the ROW next to the golf course. There’s not even sidewalks here.

sorry but if the bench beneath the awning isn’t dry when it’s raining then your shelter has failed in its primary task
a just society that wanted to serve its citizens would not allow there to be bus ‘shelters’ that are only a roof and no sides

One of those rare instances where this isn't as old as I thought it was. I thought for sure this was at least a decade old. My entire timeline for the franchise has been skewed by how much stuff has been pumped out in the Disney+ era.
STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI was released on this day 8 years ago

The new shiny bus stops on the TCH below the Galloping Goose look nice, but who or what are they for? They seem really close to the stops immediately to the south. I can't imagine them closing the stops at Boleskine/Saanich.

You should be stealing at least $5 worth of food on every visit to the grocery store, it's better for your bank account.
That's not how driving works.

You're SUPPOSED to speed to pass someone. That's what you're SUPPOSED to do.

And yeah, you should be driving at least 5 over the speed limit, it's safer.

I suggest you consult real engineering resourves before spouting off.

Like, seriously — HOPEFULLY this changes, but if this doesn’t, this is alarming — there’s potential for over 200mm of rain in 4 days next week.

And this is for Victoria, not Vancouver. Vancouver is even worse.

Making sure all tour drains remain clear, etc, is important for the next 2 weeks. #yyj

I just went on a tremendous adventure from confusion to excitement to disappointment in a few short seconds.

I also found a 1952 BCER map *and* timetable for Vancouver. A few streetcar and interurban lines remain. Interestingly, while the Richmond inset shows rail service to Steveston, the legend just below does not. New Westminster-Marpole service ends in 1952, so maybe someone removed the wrong route.

Found a tourist map of Victoria from around 1944-1948 (based on the streetcar removal timeline).

"During the past year or more, the B.C. Electric transportation system has been gradually converted from street-cars to buses."

The downtown map still shows the streetcar lines though.

It's opening day on the new Finch West LRT and things aren't looking great. It goes to show that project goals are key to what you get. In the CRD, we need to be thinking about the level and quality of service rather than vehicle type. 1/
It’s insane that within just a few weeks, two of Canada’s major cities opened polar opposite transit systems.

REM - An extension to a high frequency, fast, fully automated metro system

Finch West - A many years late, over budget, disastrously slow light rail line

I managed to shuttle three adults, two kids, and an entire *team’s* worth of softball gear around with a Golf wagon. Though, fully loaded, the back end bottomed out on the loading ramp for the ferry.
While this BBC article on ever-bigger SUVs is perfectly good, it's absurd the way there has to be quotes from people who insist they could not get around without a vehicle the size of a Sherman tank. It's just bollocks. I'm one of three kids and we were all ferried around in a Vauxhall Astra estate.
