Virtually every accessibility enhancement that exists also benefits the entire rest of the population

Tell me curb cut outs don’t improve your life, I dare you
I don’t have any disability that requires that I use alt-text to describe images, but I still use it to understand pictures of people I don’t know or jokes I don’t understand. Alt-text is useful for so much. Just put it on your pictures. Please.
WTF? I come online to witness my friend being HARASSED for asking their followers to use alt text??

Well I have news:

Alt text is very useful to me, a human w/ medical trauma that causes lifelong visibility issues; it makes me feel included/welcome when I see people using it on the timeline.

My next market is this Sunday at Pandemonium. I’ll definitely have more Totoro, probably more piranha plants, and maybe something new

One of my neighbors has been putting up these fish facts posters. All kinds of different fish, marine, freshwater, deep, shallow, all kinds. This is a good one. “Stg this real fish” took me out. Good work, neighbor.

A kid tried to steal from me today. Their adult wouldn’t buy them a bag and a plush so after repeatedly begging for both and being told no, they put the plush in the bag and told their adult “ok I choose the bag.”
Nah, kid. No.

Someone just asked me to raise my prices
“Can you say pay at least $10 instead of $5? It’s so much work.”
No, it’s pay what you can & I’m not going to keep someone from a hat cuz they dont have $10.
“Then send them to me. I donate.”
I also donate. But there’s a large space between free & full price

Disabled:
“What’s your disability?”
Or some variant of “when are you going back to work,” “do you want me to refer you for a job,” or anything else implying it’s temporary/a choice to not work
What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!
