Pinned
Silver bell and melodies
In my cloak and jammies
Around the streets I go
As I await the dawn

Glad to see the sun arising
Winter solstice and hope ahead
Golden disk crests the hillside
And home I go for bed

Happy solstice y'all 🌞

Stubble of withered grass
Creating five o’clock shadow
In the field’s blue hued skin
Of wind smoothed snow
A quiet landscape of ice
Hiding the crops gone fallow
An old barbed wire fence
A shed with a resting harrow
Gather the birds of winter
Their song of summer echoes

Morning tea: a 2010 Shu Puerh from Menghai in Yunnan. Caramel, vanilla fudge, cacao nibs, chocolate mocha. Gives a grounded body sensation with rising energy.

On the winter solstice, the Sun rises and shines down the length of the 5,100-year-old Newgrange passage tomb in County Meath, Ireland.

Remarkable designing and implementation by the Neolithic engineers who built it.

Wind and rain force
Branches bend or break
Flexibility the tipping point
The cat less flexible than pines
Looks uncertain at the door
Disappointment shows
in drooping whiskers
shoulders slouch
His enthusiasm receeds like the moon
He thinks as his eyes close
He'll try again tomorrow

Morning tea: a unique Wakoucha (black tea) from Japan. Lightly processed as a black tea, the leaves retain much of their greenness. Fuji apples, brown sugar, caramel, nori. Gives an easy going brightness.🙏🏻

Cats rely more on their whiskers and hearing for hunting than their eyesight. Cats are nearsighted and see limited colors but their eyes excel at seeing movement in low light. This is why cats mostly hunt at dusk and dawn.
Cats are also quite adorable but if you were small they would eat you.

Grape fruit? Yeah I know. Oh it's a different kind of fruit. And you called it that? I would have called it big sour orange. Nothing about this says grape to me.

The average person lived to be about 50-60 hundreds of years ago. The reason everyone fixates on the average human lifespan being 30 or 40 is because of the infant mortality rate. Half the kids didn't make it past 5; it dragged the lifespan average THAT far down.

Vaccinate your kids.
