Holley’s resignation is a slap in the face of the CinC. He can’t refuse orders, or obstruct as that would be insubordination. Resigning is a form of protest. One every flag and general officer will understand.

This escalation in violence does not arise organically. It must be the result of orders from the highest levels to take the gloves off and deal severely with protestors.

This is in service to creating a narrative of violent resistance that will be used to justify implementing the insurrection act.
