"Russia revives Soviet-era barter trade as oil revenues plunge and currency reserves dry up"

Important aspect of barter is that it effectively hides the exchange rate used in the deal. Moscow stubbornly refuses to devaluate the ruble, obviously for PR reasons.

👀 Rutte on the Kremlin's cynical plans for peace talks:

"I have long stopped commenting on what Putin, Lavrov, Peskov say. I have met with all of them, even when I was PM of the Netherlands: let them say, it is not always necessary to react."

Kremlin is huge. Ceilings high. The great czar receiving lucky guests and envoys.

If there should be negotiations with Putin make him go to some small, ordinary place. No garbage like red carpet and formation of soldiers.

Do not give Russians an advantage of Kremlin grandiosity.

The realities on the ground are an integral part of what makes russia a genocidal former superpower desperate to seem strong, while increasingly teetering at the edge of the abyss.

I like the fact that Ukraine negotiate with officials in USA and Europe, while Russia has to talk to nobodies and via back channels.
🇺🇸🇺🇦 Zelensky: A detailed report by the Ukrainian delegation after all the meetings in the US.

Umerov and the participants in the talks reported on the main emphases of the American side in the dialogue. The work was carried out on the basis of the Geneva Document, and this document was finalized.

Again? Below is an article from May 23, 2025.

Does everybody in Russia have a memory of goldfish?

Or they understand that all this is a BS and keep their mouth shut?

Witkoff and Kushner heading to Moscow to meet with Putin is not Putin's diplomatic victory.

It is his humiliation.

He wants to negotiate with American government, with some official roughly on his level, like Rubio, and he gets two stooges hoping to earn some Russia money instead.

My 'favorite' pro-Russian YouTube propagandists (channel The Duran)

Today speculating how it is possible that Zelensky is an American puppet and at the same time Ukrainian delegation had not yielded an inch in Miami negotiations.

Their conclusion - America does not want the peace actually 😁

No. Czar did not gave up in 1917, Stalin did not gave up in 1941. Putin will not give up.

Revolution in 1917 (not marxist coup, it came later) ended the war but brought more bloodshed actually.

It is complicated with Russia. Little hope for an happy end.

It’s extremely difficult to negotiate in good faith when you have two Russias to deal with.

If I was the Ukrainian government I would set up a insurance company to insure oil tankers heading to Russian ports. For the case they are hit by Ukrainian drones.

One trip - $500.000.

As a sign of good will, to protect, not to destroy 😉
Ukrainian Sea Baby naval drones struck two sanctioned vessels, KAIRO and VIRAT, in the Black Sea. The joint SBU counterintelligence and Ukrainian Navy op hit the tankers en route, empty, to load oil in Novorossiysk.

Russo-American negotiations: at full speed to the peace
November 29, 2025 at 6:07 PM
Result of current round of negotiations will be so called '0 points peace plan'.

There will be no disputable points and will not require any approval / signing

It will not stop the war, but nobody expects it anyway

Let speculate:

1. Ukraine has a weak army
2. Little green men appears in Eastern Ukraine
3. Ukraine starts antiterrorist operation
4. Russia sends peace-keeping forces there.

Which 'guarantors' will go and fight for Ukraine in this case?

Russians did it before, it worked then and might work again
🇭🇺‼️🇺🇦 After the war ends, Ukraine should be a "buffer state," - Orbán.

He believes NATO and Russia should agree on the size and equipment of limited AFU that could operate in the buffer zone. Guarantees must also be provided that neither side will "subordinate this buffer state to its authority."

Central Bank of Russia forced to sell gold to cover state budged deficit and keep the Ruble afloat.

"CBR could sell as much as 230 tons of gold valued at $30 billion this year, and at least another 115 tons worth $15 billion in 2026."

Russia does not have borders. It just decides what 'optimal borders' it wants. And what can get. And keep. All is arbitrary. They might mention 'historical lands' but this might be whatever they want.

Putin wants to put Ukraine to a subordinated position. Russia dictating the internal politics (elections, language laws, military aspects and other...) - it is a mindset, mentality - 'we are bosses here and you have to obey'

None of this should be a part of any peace treaty

I see some weird 'We were promised' obsession/pattern by Russians. Entitlement even if no binding agreement was done:

1989 - 'promise' NATO will not expand
2022 - Istanbul negotiations - the draft is somehow binding
2025 - Anchorage - there was some understanding achieved and therefore...
