Last Sunday I helped my beautiful friend peacefully move on. It's estimated he spent over 15 years in this world, 12.5 of which I was lucky enough to be a part of. Thank you for everything Marker, I love you and I will miss you.

Small states should frankly get no say in anything because every small state fucking sucks. Lots of big states suck too sure but every small state sucks.
Underrated aspect of killing the filibuster is making pundit hacks at Cook Political p-p-p-piss their pants
November 9, 2025 at 12:38 AM
The Senate basically only exists so that there can always be 100 random dickheads that get to do whatever they want with no accountability and also ensure the country itself stays in hell. The filibuster generally serves this goal.
one thing i find crazy-making is the idea that getting rid of the filibuster would make congress a purely majoritarian institution. bicameralism itself is counter-majoritarian! equal state representation is counter-majoritarian! the fact that senate elections are staggered is counter-majoritarian!

Amy Adams started in a film based on a book by a fascist and now this. I really wish Arrival wasn't such a good film.

When I posted SNAP is suicide prevention, that wasn’t a cute joke

Food insecurity on this level, in this context, especially if this occurs again anytime soon, is psychological warfare

Whether or not the oligarchy is insightful enough to KNOW that’s what they’re doing, that IS what they’re doing
New — While some states have received SNAP benefits for November and USDA is supposedly pushing through all federal payments soon, that doesn’t erase the psychological terror of the last few weeks.

I spoke with 20+ SNAP recipients in 16 states about preparing for a possible future with no food:
The voices of SNAP
Recipients have become political pawns. They explained, in their own words, what Trump withholding funds has been like.

I mean not taking either's politics into account, Ohio is much redder than Maine and a tougher lift, and Brown has already won it once in the Trump era. As for age, five years is not nothing, it's basically an entire senate term.
Sherrod Brown is 72, Janet Mills is 77, both have experience winning statewide elections in a tough Senate election next year. Both represent the mainstream of the Democratic Party
both are running in a primary against people with no experience
Brown is treated as the de facto nominee, Mills is not

They thought their case was a grand salami but this ruling now has them in a pickle.
Sandwich case a wrap as hero found not guilty; jury determines government’s case a turkey, claims ICE testimony didn’t cut the mustard

Lol sorry but no. All those compromise votes under the guide of "keeping the seat out of R hands" only to have this coward hand it back to them at the most critical moment. Hope he never has another peaceful night if sleep again.
Maine’s 2nd District has been well served by
Congressman Golden. Although he is not seeking re-election, we should not forget his fight for Mainers’ health care, our heritage industries, and tribal sovereignty. Maine will miss his leadership.

In @votealzubi.com and @votejivan.bsky.social, @bostondsa.org now has two cadre councilors in Cambridge, both who vastly outperformed the reactionary slates. After a couple bad local election cycles, there is hope for this city yet.
In local news, Cambridge looks to have 6 (of 9) good councillors, though I'm sad @danabullister.bsky.social didn't make it.

Special congratulations to Marc McGovern, @councillorsiddiqui.bsky.social, and @votealzubi.com who topped the poll (got more votes than needed in single transferrable vote) 🧵

So incredibly embarrassing for Boston that on the night NYC gets to celebrate Mamdani, our area's best chance to elect a comparably exciting mayor instead goes to a milquetoast white guy "progressive" with far less political experience. Shame on Somerville!

Leveraging a genocide for endorsements of your Senate run is as petty as it is vile.
Axcording to Jewish Insider, Seth Moulton attempted to acquire AIPAC's support in the weeks and months prior to his official Senate bid's launch— and then denounced the organization publicly when they refused to endorse.

Allegedly the same happened with Mallory McMorrow.
Before denouncing AIPAC, Moulton sought group’s endorsement for Senate campaign, source says
Moulton turned against the group when it was unable to guarantee him an endorsement upon the launch of his Senate campaign, a source told JI
