Same Lem, same.
Short chunk of trxt from Stanislaw Lem's The Hunt short story in Mortal Engines:

"the black sky, yet with all of this he still couldn't help feeling at times that he was having some kind of highly elaborate and stupid dream.
Things had happened with increasing frenzy. He"

My Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X review.

The top phrases running through my mind while testing it:

"Someone's getting fired for greenlighting this launch"

"This is not an Xbox"

"If this is the future of Xbox, Xbox is screwed."

Went with the middle.

Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year
We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

Pairs nicely with Alex Jones getting denied on his Supreme Court appeal for the Sandy Hook judgement today.

RIP Drew Struzan - a man whose talent and imagination etched onto so many minds throughout the last 40+ years.

His art & posters are some of the first visuals I think of when I think about cinema - an invitation to watch these stories and worlds.

A massive loss 💔

For the Shadow of the Colossus story, we interviewed 14 people including project leads Fumito Ueda and Kenji Kaido, hired Gravity Rush concept artist Takeshi Oga to illustrate the cover, and put together a 10,000-word story with help from @milkman.bsky.social @shmuplations.bsky.social and others.

The upside of a fast trip north and back dealing with mom's computer woes is some extra HPB finds. Snagged the full run of Irresponsible Captain Tylor DVDs cheap and nabbed a handful of volumes I was missing from two different JP runs of Rose of Versailles, completing one of them in the process.
Photo of a pair of anime dvd box sets for The Irresponsible Captain Tylor (series and OVAs) Photo of 12 regular Japanese manga volumes for the Rose of Versailles series, mostly vintage from old printings and showing illustrations of various key characters. I had 1-11 and picked up 12 this weekend. Photo of a set of 5 Rose of Versailles bunkoban-sized volumes from 1994-95 showing different colored roses in place of illustrations, I just picked up volumes 1-4 after having v5 for a while, completing the set

We absolutely, positively DO NOT need to learn to live with anyone who wants some of us FUCKING ERASED. Rowling & her money is doing real harm to trans men & women across the world and she needs to fuck off into the sun at her earliest opportunity. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. Into the sun.

oh no. no. absolutely the fuck not. fuck off.
a bullshit statement from Keira knightley saying she was not aware of a boycott against jk Rowling before taking a job on the new audio series and that she's "sorry" and "we're all going to have to figure out how to live together and we've all got very different opinions"
 She can fuck off.

boost your user satisfaction and growth with this one weird trick (removing the shit everyone hates that you added for no reason)
r/SaaS
u/soasme
I deleted ALL AI features... and user growth went UP.

Everyone's busy adding Al to everything.
I did the same for indie10k.com but it didn't work.
I removed all of fancy Al stuff - Al coach, Al growth ideas, Al "personalized" advice - everything.
Guess what?
I see more registered users and higher retention.
That actually make me wonder why now i have one page with one button, without all that Al thingy, but it does better?
Here's my question:
Is Al feature actually helping SaaS grow?

Started in on Space Pirate Captain Harlock with last night's Stockpile Sunday, and I've played myself somewhat as I read the classic manga collection earlier this year and it is following pretty closely to that apart from every TV exec's favorite thing, adding a small child to warp the story around.
Shot from anime Space Pirate Captain Harlock of two military officers casually drinking tea and playing chess while the world burns outside the floor-to-ceiling glass window and a large sphere rises from the ground behind the flames. Shot from anime Space Pirate Captain Harlock of a body lying on the ground in a dark room, illuminated by light spilling through an open hexagonal doorway. There are a number of illuminated instrument panels ringing the room and rising above them like a projection on the wall is a large outline of a green-haired person wrapped in a black cloak and holding a smoking gun. Shot from anime Space Pirate Captain Harlock of a young man standing in a street at night, with illuminated skyscrapers behind him and shot from below. He's aiming a sci-fi gun offscreen as he declared "This is not my flag!" Shot from anime Space Pirate Captain Harlock of a blonde woman in a pink bikini surfing.

This has been *confirmed*: so not only did this make it through dozens of levels of decisions where no one spoke up to say "this is unethical and looks like shit", it's also so bad it was instantly spotted by thousands of people like me who in a split second said "hey that looks like shit".
