We've suddenly got a load of new followers (thanks, #booksky). I think it's time for belated introductions.
We are Pete's Press, a hybrid publisher in Regina, SK and named after the late, great Pete the Cat.
We publish fiction, nonfiction, children's books and anthologies.
🧵
The late, great, Pete the Cat. Pete was partly Maine Coon, black, fluffy with a white nose and chest. In this photo he has his paw on an open book. He has probably spotted a typo.

Second and third novels, particularly in series, elevate the sales of first novels as they continue to hook readers. Once a reader decides they love your novel (whichever one they read) they are highly likely to chase down other novels by you. Fans. The real power.

HAHAHA come on now, we don't wanna seem too keen....
petespress.bsky.social
Aw thanks so much!! We try our best at prompt replies because we know publishing is an exercise in extreme patience usually!

Happens to everyone! Also typos breed when you're not looking, haha. You get to a point where you just can't see your own mistakes after a while. Impartial, extra pairs of eyes make all the difference.
petespress.bsky.social
Also, don't confuse editing with proofreading!

Just a warning, some subscription packs will be going out a little late this month due to @petespress.bsky.social 's trip to Toronto.

On the other hand, this means there's still time to sign up for a random, thought provoking nonfic book!

“I think we’re in the middle of a gothic horror. Can you see the baker? Or the baker bot or whatever?”
Tycho looked around wildly. “Kinda. It’s in the kitchen.”
“It doesn’t happen to be wearing a red mask, does it?”
“I can see something red, yeah…”
