Neolithic Dolmen at Le Pouget (Hérault, #France). Only part of this structure is properly ‘megalithic’. Actually, the walls are mainly made using dry-stone masonry.

Today's ROTD is Xunantunich. Construction of the site began in the Late Classic around 800 AD. It contains one of the largest burial chambers ever discovered. The name Xunantunich means "Sculpture of Lady" in the Maya language. This refers to the ghost of a woman who claimed to inhabit the site.

Also known as portal tombs, dolmens generally date to the earlier part of Ireland's Neolithic period.

This wonderful example in Carlow consists of a chamber formed by two large, slightly tilted capstones, supported by ten vertical stones.
