Born & raised in Brooklyn, NY. I moved to the SF Bay area in 1978. Prior to leaving NYC, I worked as a portrait photographer. I met Hiroko in 1983 & we married in 84. In 2018, we retired & moved to Costa Rica. In 2024, we moved to Atami, Japan.

Sad, but profoundly true. I left the country of my birth, the country whose Navy I served in during the Vietnam Era, the country my father enlisted in the US Army to fight the Nazis that seem to be running the US into the ground. I will never set foot on US soil again.

Way up in the mountains in the tiny town of Gero. It's one of the most famous and historic onsen towns in Japan. It's a place to relax, eat, drink, and soak in the mineral springs baths.

I left NYC 2 years after my 26 year old wife of 5 years just fell over dead one morning from a stroke. They blamed a combination of cigarettes and birth control pills. I had a successful career as a professional photographer that collapsed as I descended into drug and alcohol abuse.

I moved to Mill Valley in 78 and met my wife in Greenbrae in 83. We married in 84. We retired in 2018 and spent 6 years in Costa Rica before moving to Japan in 2024.
