Admiral Bradley is set to brief Congress tomorrow on the boat strikes—

Which brings Admiral Holsey’s recent resignation to mind, after he informed Hegseth that he had no intention of carrying out an illegal order after 40 years of service in the U.S. Navy—

I’d like to hear Holsey’s testimony too

I asked the mothers of kids who overdosed and they said “why are you talking to us about random boats, our kids died from opiates, getting hooked on prescription meds, what are you doing about that?”

Lest we forget...
The boats the regime is claiming are going from Venezuela to the US would need to refuel over 20 times to get to Miami.

They are lying to us.

"Incidentally"

Right...
Hmm. Ghislaine Maxwell is filing a habeas petition challenging her incarceration PRO SE (no lawyers). I guess even David Markus has his limits? Incidentally, she's worried that the release of the Epstein files would be devastating to her case.

This is a beautifully written piece.
"Fractures have emerged in the Maga coalition," writes Guardian columnist Moira Donegan. "Republicans are beginning to imagine what the country – and more importantly, their own careers – will look like without him."

So inspiring..

1. "The culture of 'no' vs. the culture of 'how?'"

2. "Agency."

Both missing in many places - PreK-12 education, for example.

Let's get to work on that!

"Live in the along."

I met Gwendolyn Brooks in 1974 at an English dept gathering at my college. She was very gracious, but of course I really had no idea who she was, lol! (Not an English major!)

Love being inspired by her 50+ years later!
RIP Gwendolyn Brooks, first African American poet to win Pulitzer prize, died this day in 2000.

The history of US billionaires and wealthy men is strangely (ha!) applicable today...it certainly rhymes!

And Spivey is doing a whole series on them...

Way cool and so true!
🩵I always think art is such a powerful outlet. Rather its photography, sketching, painting, writing-ect. What matters is you are creating or capturing something only you can. It doesn’t matter if its good or bad. Just as long as you enjoy it🩵

I'd been wondering about a FB commenter's sighting of Gaetz at a presser...

Apparently it's true!
That Pentagon *press corps* performance with Matt Gaetz and Laura Loomer among those asking questions feels like a pretty good indicator of how far over the cliff we are. Worth checking out. 🇺🇸

My faves:

"The Cabinet appeared to applaud, although it is not clear whether they were agreeing or hoping to stop him from talking like a Nazi."

And:

"George Will noted in the Washington Post: “Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth seems to be a war criminal. Without a war. An interesting achievement.”"

Well said!
Just imagining how much better it would be if ALL news stories about vaccine-preventable illnesses were illustrated with pictures of people with the disease, not pictures of needle injections. If you must show something that people will find scary & unpleasant, make it the disease, not the cure.
I'm so tired of measles.

I'm also tired of people using needle shots on stories like this.

...all because of the National Guard invasion, I'm sure...
The DC homicide rate dropped sharply in 2025, with roughly 30% fewer killings compared to last year, and police data shows that DC authorities have closed nearly four homicide cases for every five opened, on schedule to mark the highest homicide case clearance rate since 2013. wapo.st/4paDMKX
Fewer killings, more arrests: D.C. homicide closures spiked this year
D.C. police have arrested 101 people suspected of homicide in 2025. If this persists through the end of the year, it would mark the city’s highest homicide arrest rate in over a decade.
