Anyone surprised that Republicans are fleeing the motte of "pedophile" to the bailey of "ephebophile" hasn't been paying attention. A reminder: Tariffs are a regressive tax. The anti-Robin Hood.

Trump's current tariff settings effectively impose a tax rate on low-income households that's roughly TRIPLE that on high-income folks. That's not the way taxes are supposed to work.

What a great scoop by a local news outlet. @dankennedy.net

No surprise that Southern Baptist (SBC) affiliated churches are involved. I'm the son of a minister of the now nearly extinct Northern Baptist sect and learned long ago that the SBC thrives on hatred and bigotry disguised as God's word.

Watched again and the highlight may actually be her saying if Kat was nicer, she'd have called Trump to ask for lenience. Not great imo how fast people have learned "the president will pardon you if you suck up to him."
Yesterday, a Republican tried to give me holy water and Trump perfume because I’m “demonic.”

Extremely normal stuff coming from an extremely normal party.

First off, my suspension has ended. Got a little harsh with a post a few days ago but I didn’t have my feet on the ground and I’m sorry if I offended anyone. Will try to be more chipper. Knock on wood!

Here's a test. Can you support universal healthcare while condemning the cold blooded murder of an insurance company executive? If yes, you are center/left.

“Good Vibrations” hits #1 on the UK charts today in 1966.

The song, David Leaf wrote, “redefined what a pop single could attempt, and in doing so redefined what American music could aspire to. .. The record doesn’t simply sit in pop history — it towers over it.”

Tom, I’m a follower and someone who listens to you, and reads what you have to say. Stop arguing with nonsense. Instead, tell us, every day, what we need to do to stop fascism/ authoritarianism. Please.

I like that analogy a lot
Understandable. Fascism is part of totalitarianism, which is part of authoritarianism.

Think of it like Family/Genus/Species in biology:

Family - Authoritarian
Genus - Totalitarian
Species - Fascist

Getting the Family right and Species wrong is the difference between a tiger and a house cat!
As just an average person, I really tried to understand the differences among fascism, authoritarianism, totalitarianism, and woof it was hard to really grok.
