I'm interested in too many things and have been on the net since Compuserve provided access (75110,2422).

I block Crypto booster accounts, accounts with no posts and anyone who is not offering rational conversation
I'm glad I got to see them in their prime, 78 What Do You Want From Live tour @ the Orpheum Boston.

Fee & Re (RIP) doing the classic "Don't Touch Me There" and "Mondo Bondage" performances was amazing.

Hope so, been fond of this species since the late 60s when I inadvertently hooked one while trout fishing in Meshanticut Brook. Scared the crap out of me given the eel was nearly as long as the tiny inflatable raft I was fishing from.

USA solar panel manufacturing nearly vanished due to China's illegal subsidies throughout the beginning of the century.

Plants like this, and the others First Solar previously opened, are the hoped for result of the extended 2018 tariffs.

Yeah, it's so weird seeing, "The new factory leans heavily on AI, from computer vision that spots defects on the line...", considered AI. That's been used in US manufacturing since at least the mid 80's when I did some consulting for a PC based inspection machine (a tiny PCB layout for a dongle).

IIRC Armenian Orthodox is Oriental Orthodox and Greek/Russian Orthodox are Eastern Orthodox so there significant differences in theology and customs.

However the people of a particular state want to do it.

Using the popular vote in MA has given us Republican Governors about half the time so that seems a pretty fair system for MA.

I'm just glad that Brewster Kahle got the Internet Archive going to start capturing in 1996.

Wish I'd saved versions of my old site from before the archive captured it (1996 to 2002) just for the fun of seeing how lame it was :-)

My solution was to not connect my new TV to the internet, no Wi-Fi, no Ethernet. I use a tiny cheap Roku device to do streaming.

Without an internet connection the TV can't do AI, show ads, or do anything else the manufacturer wants it do to make money off you.

Of course Vance has no idea what prices eggs have actually been in the past decade.
"And then the price of eggs goes from $2 a dozen to $8 a dozen under the Biden administration, and then it goes from $8 a dozen to maybe $6.50 a dozen” /1

Looks very interesting, if I wasn't winding down to retirement I'd definitely pick one up too

I loved my CrossPad (Cross Pen/IBM/HP joint design) but that ended support in 2001

Been dreading the first time I find a lone star tick attached because of the meat allergy.

You have from 24 to 72 hours of blood sucking before a tick passes on disease (depends on species & life stage). So check, double & triple check.

The lone star tick was first found in RI in 2022 (likely climate induced range extension) so I have not encountered one yet.

I encounter many ticks from hiking 500+ miles each year in SE New England. All of them since 2015 have been deer (blacklegged) ticks.
