On World AIDS Day, I’m reminded of all the positive folks who have fought, and continue to fight, secrecy, stigma, and shame. HIV is a chronic illness conditioned by state violence, poverty, inequality, and discrimination. We can end HIV by cultivating better healthcare and more inclusive societies.

Sometimes I imagine what it would have been like had we adapted to Covid instead of giving up.

If we had clean air in public spaces.
Respirators in healthcare.
Free masks for those who need them.
Better tests & treatment.
Paid time off.

We would all be healthier.

6 years today the first COVID case was identified in a man in Wuhan marking the beginning of a global pandemic that changed the world. We are way less prepared today to face another pandemic than we were back then. This fact makes me sad.

US, UK and European aid cuts will likely lead to 3.3m more than expected new HIV infections by 2030.

So ignore fancy proclamations from them.

Remigration is a European far-right concept of ethnic cleansing via the mass deportation of non-white minority populations, especially immigrants and sometimes including those born in Europe and holding European citizenship - Wikipedia
A reminder for those who are not aware: "remigration" is the process of deporting all non-white people from a country. It includes citizens and is, by definition, ethnic cleansing.

And to be clear: this is not fake. I just screenshot it myself.

People vastly underestimate how important trans* rights are in the contemporary fight for freedom.

If you cannot make your own choices for your body, the name you go by, or even the very clothes that you wear, then you are not, in any sense, meaningfully free.
