Fuck those fuckers
this is the stupidest timeline
It’s Monday, it’s the first of December, it’s fucking cold (by my standards), my pool is closed all month. The sun still hasn’t come up. But hey it’s the beginning of Cookie Week (NYT) and I have the Bonne Maman jam advent calendar.

For anyone who doesn't know, go to Settings, Accessibility, then switch on the alt text requirement. If I remember right, you have to do it on the web and the app, separately.
Darlings, please remember your alt text! Turn on the setting so you can't post images without it. (It's how I got into the habit.)

It takes an extra 20 seconds to be inclusive. Do the thing.

Almost 13 months after I last worked, here's a follow-up to the story in my pinned post.

This is me begging for my life as I prepare to return to work for a New York Times-owned company.

CW: suicidal ideation.

Hey, fellow Canadians and other cold climate residents, I have a question.

What do you to get fresh air in your apartment or house when it's this cold?

Today is FINALLY rugelach day! And many mouths rejoiced! #cookieparty
I will make rugelach at some point, although I am not bringing them to the cookie exchange lol smittenkitchen.com/2015/12/pull...

These are great because you can stop at so many places, take a break, and come back. once the cookie is assembled you can freeze the unbaked dough and then bake later.
unfussy rugelach
Rugelach are blissful flaky pastry-like cookies wound with jam, nuts, and chocolate if you wish and a whiff of cinnamon sugar.

Best audiobook to help you cope with an impossibly awful reality and terrible people? I’d prefer to listen instead of reading and would like to hear a pleasant voice.

Love how the New Yorker is positing that “cancel culture” means people can resubscribe to whatever got canceled after the requisite amount of time. Now with added UMLAUTS.

In fairness the umlauts are not new to the New Yorker.

The rest is bullshit.

It's the umlaut. The nonsense is gobsmacking, the servility pathetic, but the shit cherry on top of this shit cake is, undoubtedly that twee little grab for space on the faux intellectual high ground.

What absolute--and I can't stress this strongly enough--wankers.
When a cancelled performer reënters the culture, we expect them to offer us a great work, channelling their newfound clarity into the finest art they’ve ever made. With his new comedy show and début novel, has Louis C.K. met the bar?

Louis C.K.’s Next Chapter
In a new standup special, and a début novel, the comedian navigates murky, post-#MeToo terrain: not quite exiled, not quite welcomed back.

Got a recommendation to check out the show Human Footprint on PBS. The first episode features a woman who hunts Burmese pythons in Florida. She’s captured more than 600!!

According to King County Metro there is a tree lighting AND fireworks event tonight downtown. FIREWORKS? Is this new? Am I just *that* out of it? Either way I do not plan on being downtown for these shenanigans.
