AI’s real contribution to humanity could be maximizing corporate profit by preying on personal data to raise prices. In fact, it’s already happening.

That Hegseth had declassification authority is largely irrelevant in Signalgate for two reasons:

First, it doesn't change the fact that he put US service members in danger.

Second, he never claimed that he exercised that authority, nor followed any processes for doing so.

Flock cameras have been used by ICE to kidnap brown folks. They have also been used to track women seeking abortions.

Nearly all of the flock cameras in #PDX are on Home Depot property. If you weren’t already boycotting @homedepotofficial.bsky.social, here’s another good reason.

ICE out of PDX
We spent the past month (months?) talking w/ protesters detained at Portland's ICE bldg about their experiences. We heard everything from being questioned about antifa, to not being read Miranda rights, to photos w/ arresting officers.

Their stories point to a slapdash, chaotic federal operation:
Those arrested at Portland ICE protests recount disparate, confusing treatment by federal officers
OPB interviewed more than a dozen people who were arrested at the ICE protests between June and October. What they described was an apparent lack of standard operating procedures as various federal la...

Released safely back into the wild after sleeping it off at animal control. Who among us
The masked burglar broke into the closed Virginia liquor store early on Saturday and hit the bottom shelf. The bandit was something of a nocturnal menace: bottles were smashed and alcohol pooled on the floor.

The suspect acted like an animal because, in fact, he's a raccoon.

The steroids worked. I am inching closer to full recovery of health. And so is my son. He needed a steroid inhaler and I needed oral steroids just to beat the lingering symptoms of this virus or whatever it was. It wasn't Covid.

They have started rebuilding it “as a symbol of remembrance, resilience, and respect for the lives & stories of immigrants.”
