The UMaine Graduate Workers Union - @uaw.org deserves a fair contract.

Chancellor Malloy must end the union-busting, stop stalling, and negotiate a fair contract.

I knew getting my ass out of bed at 4am every day to catch up on #resistance events and publish my calendars was doing some sort of good, if only to help me live longer! 🤪

Cool article by Julia Métraux @juliametraux.bsky.social in Mother Jones @motherjones.com on retirees fighting the good fight.

Working families need all the help they can get. That’s where the expanded Child Tax Credit came in. But Congress let it lapse — pushing countless children and working families back into poverty. When I’m in Congress, I’ll fight to restore it and make it permanent.

For those outside Maine, LePage was trumpy before Trump ran the first time. A hateful bigot through and through.
Republican House candidate Paul LePage said he will emphasize trans-student-athlete policy in his campaign, and Sen. Susan Collins signed onto a petition related to the issue. Read more from our D.C. correspondent for free at the link below.

I would also re-read this NPR article if you haven't seen it before. There are some very serious problems with new technologies that we must address sooner rather than later. Lives can literally depend upon it.

Trump attempting to block AI regulation at the state level is absurd. The federal government is far too slow and corrupt to effectively handle AI legislation right now. States, however, have been quite busy in starting to meet the moment to protect people from the downsides of AI. See the tracker.

Immigrants who have done everything right–successfully completed naturalization process, passed English & civics tests, attended an interview, & received approval–in line for final step of taking an oath for citizenship, are getting yanked away.

This is about as UNamerican as it gets.

This is what’s happening to immigrants doing it “the right way” in Trump’s America.

We have been told about it happening here in Tennessee.

With all the focus on national mid-term elections in 2026 and the primaries leading up to them, let's not forget our own state's elections, which deserve our scrutiny and attention, too.

All 151 seats in the Maine House of Representatives are up in 2026. . .

A terrific–and hard to do–thread of over 30 posts with a play-by-play style of retelling what a candidate's town hall (Graham Platner in Oxford today) is like; what was talked about; what questions were raised, etc.

A lot more than anyone will find in online snippets and most articles.

I’ve come to hear the oyster guy for myself; by the start time, the room is full. Parking was tricky; ended up in the field behind the hall; glad we brought the truck.

Public service has never been about titles for me — it’s a lifelong commitment to listening to the people you represent, solving problems, and standing up for those who need a voice.

That’s how I’ve always led, and it’s the same approach I’ll take with me to the Senate.
