Heartbroken that, per his social media accounts, Drew Struzan has left us. His poster and album art was quite simply shorthand for imagination for countless young people.
E.T. Adventure poster, 1990. I still have one of these hanging in my childhood bedroom. Star Wars Special edition triptych, 1997. I remember seeing all of these in the paper as each film was re-released and just felt a burst of energy those mornings. Hook poster, 1991 Back to the Future poster, 1985

Willow (1989) by Capcom for the NES is an action RPG based on the 1988 fantasy film. As Willow Ufgood, it's up to you to save the land in Capcom's expanded version of the story by rubbing elbows with NPCs, solving quests, and leveling up to stop the evil Bavmorda. (a mark of prophecy thread)
The wicked Bavmorda, the main antagonist from the film, returns in the game with an expanded background recasting her as the messenger of the powerful sky spirit watching over the world. But now she has decided to use her gifts to dominate the world instead. Home is where the heart, and the healing, is. As you explore the world, familiar creatures from the films will show up along with A LOT of new ones. A bit more experienced, and better armed, Willow makes his way to a mysterious lake...

Jim Henson’s Creature Shop (with its Mouse Unit!) were responsible for both the cute mouse puppets and the… less cute aspects of rodent transformation in The Witches (1990). #jimhenson

Gay gasps abound on our episode about The Witches (1990) with @robwillb.bsky.social when discussing other actresses potentially considered for the role of the Grand High Witch, so memorably played by Anjelica Huston.

the children’s horror space, Jim Henson’s mouse unit, bad ADR dubbing giving a giallo feel, Anne Hathaway saying “gooorlic” in the remake, British seaside hotels, being a grandma’s boy, Chicken and Mushroom Pot Noodle, a girl being stuck in a painting…
