I think the best way to think about it is like dominoes
Some people tip over the first domino and realise "ah I'm trans"
And some people go all the way down the chain until they realise "ah I'm trans"
Maybe in the second scenario they were already trans but didn't realise it until needing to-

One of the persistent questions in my mind is the connection between transgender people and in what way sexual assault correlates or causes transgenderism

Because if trauma results in dissociative disorders where different 'selfs' can have different gender identies then is that causation or not?
