Politicians love to talk about "kids safety" until you ask them to do something that would actually keep kids safe like fund housing, healthcare, education, outdoor spaces, arts programs, etc.

That's because most of them use "safety" as a euphemism for surveillance, control and domination.

International #adoptees, like me, who were brought to this country had zero choice in their citizenship status. Some of us, whose adoptive parents didn’t do the paperwork, have been deported already. And citizens like me are at risk due to this racist regime. 🥚

Reminder that early Fortnite stole dance choreography from people of color and only responded when they were publicly called out or sued. That team has been telling the world who they are pretty consistently for a long time. We need to listen.
SO... I'm pretty much done with Fortnite. There were statements made by Tim Sweeney saying that AI usage doesn't need to be disclosed, and then AI usage was found all over this current season- from art to sprays to in-game songs. Between that, and the upcoming shitty wizard collab... Yeah, I'm done.

This seems like the kind of declaration by a U.S. president that should be mentioned *somewhere* on the front page of CNN or the NY Times, but the fact that it isn't (as of right now) tells us so much both about how this president is covered and the credibility of the U.S. government.
Might be kicking off.

Being a light sleeper sucks so much. I couldn't fall asleep until an hour & a half past bedtime, & then I've been woken up about every hour since then by my pets. Mostly the lab snoring, even after I switched bedrooms, but then also the cat being mad about closed doors (to block the snores).

The DC shooting story is really getting to me because we literally trained this man as a child soldier for a death squad in a forever war and Stephen Miller et al want to blame it on other cultures? It's our culture, American culture, that killed that woman.

Racism is at the heart of all of this anti-immigration bullshit (& I do not use that word lightly here). It infuriates me on such a deep level. I'm not perfect; I make mistakes a lot. But I cannot abide the open & wanton hatred displayed by my government & its highest members (& their advisors).

I'm curious. For folks in the USA who do Thanksgiving, what time of day do you serve your big meal?

For me, it's always a ~noon thing. At my mom's, it was so we could munch on leftovers for the rest of the day. With my other family, it was so people could get back home without driving in the dark.
