If I remember right, there's a setting to adjust the rolls a bit. I don't remember the details anymore, but I feel like it made really constant bad luck less likely. Can't remember what setting I preferred, but I remember switching it up to see which way I liked better.

Yeah, I've been shocked to see how much play Arc Raiders is getting. It's quite disappointing.

I definitely recommend doing the Dark Urge. You can totally customize them for species, class, etc, but it has its own story line that adds a lot to the rest of the story. I played it my first playthrough (and this was my first time playing any BG) and it added so much. Very worthwhile.
