-The increased number of anime produced every year making the entire industry stretched too thin and filled with burned-out and insufficiently mentored workers to be as original as before.

My guess:

-The thing Miyazaki complained about where artists increasingly reference existing anime instead of real life

-The Otaku process of breaking down individual tropes and traits for consumption and then reproducing them becoming a more powerful market force over time

I was just thinking earlier how we're not seeing scrappy modern equivalents of career debut Robert Rodriguez or Kevin Smith promoting this stuff. It's just the big directors and executives who have more money than God who are pushing it.

I used to teach middle schoolers and pre-ChatGPT they thought I was a boomer who didn't understand computers because I told them Google wasn't a source and you had to click past the summary for the real source. I can't imagine how bad things are with them now.

Yeah I think a lot of anti-NFT people overestimate how deeply entrenched we were in understanding it compared to the general public. I'm sure the conversation with most celebrities was "What's an NFT? Oh, it's like a digital trading card or something? Ok sure whatever."
