In 2023 I was shocked at how much I was spending after having children so I polled other parents in my neighborhood, who estimated they spent around $400 a month on groceries. I easily spend $500+ now.

Maybe because I have a family of four, my grocery prices are noticeably through the roof right now. I'm trying to combat them by using less popular proteins in my cooking: sardines, tofu, pancetta, pork belly, ground turkey/pork instead of beef, and buying chicken in bulk from Costco to freeze.
