Time for the annual NYC game of “Is It A Costume, or Just How They Normally Dress?”
I don't think it's realistic, or even ideal, for all cities to directly copy Hoboken, but there are some universal concepts that can be applied. Narrow one-way streets. Daylight corners. Dense transit development. 20mph speed limits. Tactical, quick-build projects. Robust bike share.
Update: exciting things happening here.
The cheat codes are open source, after all.
How To with John Wilson season 4 plot arc.
You didn't mention this in the newsletter, but I was excited to see the bike/pedestrian concept on Clinton Street that's being proposed for the Rockefeller site! Exciting things coming to the 5th Ward in coming years!
Congratulations to @zoeschiffer.bsky.social for this monumental work of art.
"Her [Cybertruck] name is Aura, and I use her as a therapist. When I'm driving, I'll ask questions, and it actually gives really good therapy advice."

Men will do literally anything to avoid therapy.

Big step forward coming for #Hoboken! When Grand Street is resurfaced in the coming weeks, the city will pilot the ever protected bike lane through the interior of Hoboken! How exciting!

“We – dealers, manufacturers, auto lenders – don’t learn our lessons from the past,” Schwartz said. “I’m sure bank presidents back then said, ‘We’re never doing 96-month loans again.’ And here we are, 15 years later, and we’re getting right back into it. It’s crazy.”
“Once rare, 7-year car loans are fast becoming the norm. They’re often the only way buyers can afford new rides, with average sale prices surging 28% in 5 years to approach $50k.”

Designed-in car dependency, surging car prices, longer loan periods with more interest.

Sound like “freedom” to you?
Cars are so expensive that buyers need 7-year loans

So, effectively, a Democrat just signed into law a tax cut on coal and gas power?

Hoboken just activated an automated system for ticketing cars that are illegally parked in bike lanes and bus stops.

Imagine if NYC did this!
Initial reports are coming in about how well the #Hoboken CLEAR parking enforcement is working. How exciting to finally have useable bike lanes and bus stops! Have you ever seen the Washington Street bike lane this clear? 😍
I cannot wait for those Christie-era coach buses to be phased out on the Hoboken 126 line. They make boarding so slow, difficult for accessibility, and uncomfortable. Glad to see more investment happening!
As an alumnus, this is embarrassing.
I would go for a NJTransit Baggu. That'd be pretty sick.
