I like talking about transit, urbanism, accessibility, and local stuff.
It's because Jabbour didn't run a 6th Ward candidate. She won the 6th Ward in both the General and Run Off, so if she had a candidate, the council majority would be flipped.

Additionally, Jabbour voters are packed in wards 5 and 6 (60/40 splits). She only loses extremely narrowly in Wards 1 and 2.

It might be presumptuous to simply say that bike lanes and transit are popular ideas (there were many obvious differences between the competing candidates), but at the very least, it's definitely fair to say that:

"Good candidates support bike lanes and transit"

Which is good enough for me. 🙂

?

Hoboken will have like 10% pop growth coming in the next few years with the units coming in the North/Northwest.

I suppose they haven't all been technically permitted yet, but they're in the very final stages of approval.

Hudson County Complete Streets.

HudcoStreets.org

This year, they organized a successful campaign to force the PANYNJ into funding massive service improvements for the PATH train after decades of neglect.

The campaign was started by a former Toronto(nian?) who also organized for Eglinton.

It would be so embarrassing to actually accept that money as public education gets defunded.

Yep, you’re correct. Just wanted to note that we’re not immune to AVs as part of our streetmix either. 🙂

However, important to note that the average distance to our polling location is like 300 feet.

And there’s no snow on the ground.

Turnout will be lower than November, but mainly due to Sherrill not being on the ballot, imo.

Despite her recent op-ed accusing him of multiple examples of corruption, Tiffanie just endorsed Russo in a newsletter tonight. Hoboken politics — forever interesting!

It probably suggests that a @tiffaniefisher.bsky.social endorsement would be extremely valuable.
