The OBR says the rise in claims was linked to the cost of living crisis

The way disabled people have been vilified over PIP, as if they were trying to play the system, was disgusting & shameful

Hacks & commentators that engaged in the grotesque demonisation of disabled people should be ashamed.
New PIP claims are starting to decline

Misleading and nasty in equal measure.

I am not sure that "encouraging" people to invest in stock markets if they wish to have tax-free savings is wise.

Most people in the UK do not have the skills to invest successfully in the stock markets. It sounds like a good way to lose money for a lot of people!

I was helping out a friend who's looking for publishers to submit her translation (into French) and it was really eye opening how all the French indie presses I looked at had detailed transparent and open submissions guidelines compared to their anglophone equivalents

So, if you're organising a conference, we all recognise that having an all-male discussion panel would be wrong. Not reflecting gender mix properly.

And how about the voices quoted in promotional materials? Should there be diversity of gender there, too?

Compare and contrast the Government language.

£3,750 EV grant on a £35k car: ‘helping families’.

Cycle to Work: ‘subsidising leisure’.

And yet cycling delivers TEN TIMES the impact of electric cars for reaching net zero. It’s almost like narrative, not data, is driving policy.

It is infuriating that if you tell GMail that it can't train its plagiarism machine on your stuff that it takes away all the Promotions/Social Media junk-adjacent tabs and throws everything into one huge Inbox.

It's a shitty thing to do because those tabs and mail being sorted existed before the AI

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

One of the most shameful incidents of WW2 was when the government and press scapegoated refugees, then decided to pack them off an a cramped ship, The HMT DUNERA and ship them to Australia.

As they boarded the boat they were stripped of the valuables and robbed by the guards.

Now government policy
