I remember when my retired nurse mother in law prioritized getting an updated tdap before my son was born. She recommended we make everyone else do it too.

Public smoking bans just got in under the wire, too. Younger folks might not realize how rare they used to be and how hard they were to enact.
it is MIRACULOUS that we got rid of lead paint and asbestos when we did. if we had tried that today, there would be people whining about how we're restricting their rights.

Last year we started a new tradition. Kids get $30 per family member and I take them to the local bookstore to do their holiday gift shopping. They have so much more than just books! Games, art supplies, stuffies… and we all feel good knowing we supported local

- owner took away a mattress (I still can’t explain this one)
- owner and his family used the house to hand out Halloween candy (has happened every year)
