Can you all stop using Substack already? If you were mad about Bari Weiss becoming editor-in-chief of CBS News, why are you willing to hand over actual substantial support — your time, money, and energy — to the platform that literally partnered with her in December? www.theverge.com/2024/12/17/2...
Substack partners with Bari Weiss to launch an ‘enterprise offering’ website builder.

Incredible!

I'm also amazed I'd never seen or heard of this one before. What a beaut!

I'd force Disney and George Lucas to make the sequel trilogy he wrote. It couldn't be any worse than what we got...
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

Every Democrat in Congress should put out a video saying troops have an obligation to refuse unlawful orders. Make them prosecute all of you. This isn't a close call.

I'd add Republicans too if I thought any of them had the courage to actually cross Trump on this.

Everyone else has cooler paper money than we do. The US could learn a thing or two.

More importantly, now I know I need to visit Axolotitlán, the museum with the coolest name ever.

From the No Duh Department: Googling something and reading about it is more educational than asking AI to teach it to you.
Learning With AI Falls Short Compared to Old-Fashioned Web Search
In virtually all the ways that matter, getting summarized information from AI models was less educational than doing the work of search.

Behind this important reversal is a member of the Coast Guard who saw what was happening and had the courage to leak it to the press. That person deserves serious praise.

I really, *really* want the AI bubble to pop and watch tech bro fortunes disappear into the ether like an LLM hallucination.

The chances of any of them learning a lesson are slim, but it's there and I want it to have the opportunity to make the most of itself.

It's true, it was turned on on all my accounts.

Screw you, Google. This is why I'm moving away from using your products wherever I can.
If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.
