“How I got Expelled from Prep School and Wandered Around New York for 3 Days before Accepting that Children Need to Grow Up(Also I’m a vampire.)”
On the other hand I think it would be very funny to retitle literary fiction light novel style. “Oh No! This Author Stand-In is Unhappily Married”
This attitude is how you end up with light novel titles.

Remember, the big argument for AI in the arts is that these “artists” have ideas, hundreds of ideas, thousands, all that was stopping them was the hoards of gatekeeping musicians, writers, illustrators… and not that they were lazy and didn’t want to put in the work.

The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

So grateful to everyone in NYC who mobilized to stop the ICE raid of Canal St. The violence being committed against immigrants is heart-wrenching, but the shows of solidarity we have seen around the country give me so much hope.

600 ICE agents were supposed to be deployed to Canal Street. Hundreds of New Yorkers gathered instead.

Quick summary by me:

New Yorkers Against ICE!!!
Confirmed: Earlier this morning a photog overheard agents inside the parking garage say “dismissed,” believed to be calling off their planned mass raid.

A source tells me they had planned for *hundreds* of agents to flood Canal St. They got flooded instead.

Trump’s stated justification for every single one of his despicable pardons of multiple drug traffickers, wealthy fraudsters, people who beat up cops, cronies, violent criminals, and politically connected Republicans is always the same: “I heard they were treated very unfairly.”

After the shooting of two national guard soldiers in DC, Trump said, "This heinous assault was an act of evil, an act of hatred, and an act of terror." Given how bad he said it was, and considering trumps past statements, this means Trump is behind the attack. He always blames others for his evil.

If a 1/3 of adults have criminal records, you have a society in which being a "criminal" is the only rational course for a HUGE percentage of people.

That's a broken society with broken economics and broken laws.

I keep thinking about the fact that "nearly one-third of the adult working age population [in the US] has a criminal record."

With numbers like that, this isn't a problem of individuals. This comes down to what our society calls "crime."

With as many criminal convictions as college degrees, it's more evident than ever why "ban the box" laws are important for the economy.

Those reasons still exist.

Just sayin’.

(It’s also SO much easier to control access to satellite comms on an island that has one usable port and one airstrip.)
i feel like we need something more than the hague, like one of those supervillian prisons in the middle of the ocean that movies always have.
Heinz-Wilhelm Eck might have something to say about this one.

Please keep putting pressure on PayPal. Stories like this are becoming more and more common. Artists don’t deserve to lose their source of income over payment processors being puritanical/anti-small business.
I'm devastated, if I don't find an alternative that works with argentinians I'm contemplating the worst, I can't do regular jobs, art was my job for around 15 years
I don't do nsfw even when people insist me to

I’d like to remind everyone that all of this is only happening because 20 some years ago some quack doctor wanted to get rich quick and some fly-by-night celebrities saw a way to feel important about themselves. So now nobody vaccinated their children EVEN THOUGH IT DEMONSTRABLY SAVES LIVES.
The magnitude of the change over time is striking.
