In-state tuition and fees for our state university is about US$8k a semester. Assuming 2 semesters a year for for years that's 8 semesters that's $64,000 and doesn't include housing, medical, food, etc. It does include transit, though.
Out of curiosity: What does a bachelor’s degree cost at a regular college without any frills?
We support our daughter with around €1k a month, most of which goes towards housing and living expenses. The Uni cost €1k each year.
As a student, she has free health insurance and public transportation.
