Proud queer, based in Vancouver, BC (unceded Coast Salish territory). My politics are best described as eco-left. I will definitely also be posting about pop culture and urbanism, and will certainly be engaging in general nihilism. They/them, please.

Welcome to new followers! Please buckle up, because my posts are complete chaos and I like it that way. There is no theme, no continuity, I'm just out here brain dumping all over the timeline.
People make fun of the Star Wars Holiday Special because it's terrible (and yes I agree it is terrible), but the Diahann Carroll song rivals anything ever created for the Bond series.

What if we got the wrong Carney as our prime minister?

This street sign in North Van always looks like it was made by AI.

The people on the fourth floor of my building all know each other and threw a big holiday party for the whole building. I was going to stop in for half an hour and somehow three hours later I am just getting home. I'm so fortunate to live in a building with such a vibrant community.

Learning new skills later in life is not only rewarding but it also forges new neural pathways and helps protect the brain from dementia as you age. That’s why at Instagram we keep moving your messages and the search bar

So I was going to just post this photo with an excerpt of No Doubt's Oi To The World but then I read the lyrics and fell down a big ol' internet rabbit hole.

I'm pretty sure that at this point in time, the remaining opposition to renewables are nothing but the tantrums of those with interest in fossil fuels and/or could not get the logic of "there's no cost to obtaining the fuel" to sink into the brain.

A local radio station just played its "old school hits - now!" tag, followed by Ed Sheeran's Shape of You, and I guess it's time for me to walk into the sea.

The guy who replaced my Pixel screen (for the second time since I got it a year ago) told me never to install OS updates because every time a new Android OS gets released they get a flood of people with hardware problems like mine.

Anyone else's YouTube Recap straight up calling you a nerd?

18 years ago, I posted a 20-second-long video on YouTube, of a fan viewable through a skylight at Stade Olympique in Montréal. I guess I thought it was neat because the camera frame rate accidentally made it look slower than in real life. Somehow, it's accumulated 13,536 views.

The insidious conflation in the public eye of [people who are ethnically, culturally, or religiously Jewish] and [the State of Israel], coupled with the genocidal actions of the State of Israel, is making the world a more dangerous place to be if, like me, you are Jewish. (1/)

The surprise Santa voice when I started my Evo trip this morning gave me the biggest jump scare. It's so much louder and more aggressive than the usual gentle one they use!

I have so many opinions right now but if I've learned anything from years on Twitter it's that they will only be rewarded with intentional misreading and random bits of anger thrown at me. I'm exhausted and heartbroken by today's events, either way.

You don't get to murder us and call it pro-Palestinian.

I was not expecting Elf to feature a whole police brutality plot. At least they concluded the cops are on the naughty list.

Is anyone making Android phones that aren't loaded with bloatware like Samsung and aren't progressively degrading in hardware quality like Google's Pixel series? I've just had my second screen failure on my Pixel 9 Pro this year and I am losing patience with it.

It took me until about 2/3rds of the way through Judy before I figured out it was Renee Zellweger and not Michelle Williams in the lead role, and now I am thinking how great it would be for the two of them to play each other in their respective biopics.

When did some airports start doing secondary screening *at the gate* where they prevent you from bringing any liquids into the plane, even if you obtained them in the airport? This is the second time I've encountered this (today I'm flying from Santiago, the first time was in Fiji) and I'm baffled.

I realise the standard pants/skirt icons are already weird gender stereotypes but the gendered washroom icons in SCL airport lean extra hard into both gender norms and the beauty standard. 🚻
