KOSA is a censorship bill that won’t make kids safe. Instead, it'll put all internet users at risk, especially youth. If you believe in a free and open internet, tell your lawmakers to reject #KOSA! www.stopkosa.com

that's why, call your senators/representatives to don't pass any censorship bills no matter what they're on

Don't stop talking about KOSA! We can't forget or ignore that the US government wants to censor LGBTQ content while disguising It as "protecting the kids". Do everything you can to stop it from happening and spread the word to everyone you know

kosa/online ID sets a very dangerous precedent, so please contact your representatives!!
Some key takeaways from today’s hearing:

-Many acknowledged that Senate KOSA is a threat to free expression.

-Bills discussed have similar issues to KOSA, esp online ID checks.

-The bad idea that surveillance + censorship will keep kids safe online drove the discussion.

KEEP AT EM! ✊
NEW: We hosted a live-stream of today's House Energy & Commerce committee hearing to provide commentary + analysis as Congress considers bills that would mandate online ID checks across the internet and censor very important resources for young people.

continuing to make calls. I called my reps and alongside demanding they oppose all of these bills (and explaining in detail why), I also advocated for putting these bills through MORE committee meetings in order to continue debating them, rather than fast track such dangerous legislation
#SaveSpeech

The House Committee Meeting was heavily in favor of these various censorship/surveillance bills

We need now, more than ever, to counter the rhetoric that these bills are "popular" and demand our reps oppose them!

Looks like House KOSA and other 18 bills won’t see the light of day but still keep an eye out on when they will come back
Some potential good news out of yesterday's theatrical House hearing on internet censorship bills. A pre-emption provision has even KOSA supporters like NCOSE abandoning the House version.

With ten days to go, there seems to be little appetite for KOSA or age-verification bills in general.

Some good news. Of course it's still a good idea to keep reminding your reps that KOSA and every other censorship bill is bad and has to be opposed.

Call your Senators and Representatives and tell them to vote no on the Screen Act and KOSA. These bills, if passed, will basically destroy the free internet as we know it.

Not seeing people (or post at least) speak out about KOSA and SCREEN Acts in the US is concerning...

These acts will change the free and open Internet here in the states and have already been shot down multiple times before for encroaching on first amendment and privacy rights.

When these laws pass.

The Majority has chosen to be like "Oh no that won't happen. You're fear mongering" "Oh that won't happen! You're being silly"

Am I? Same goes for others who care. Are we being 'silly?' These laws puts kids endanger regardless.

While the new version of this law removes some of the most dangerous provisions, we're still worried it will allow companies to censor useful information like sex ed or suicide prevention that can be vital for teens.

Safety can't come at the cost of free speech.

I think when you're calling your representatives and/or the Committee majority number, you should be demanding that these bills go through more meetings

they need maximum scrutiny and should not be pushed through as fast as possible
wants this to be the last meeting on this matter before they turn bills into laws.

You should call your representatives TODAY about the House Committee meeting

mention the meeting, mention that you do not think the "child safety" bills in this package are actually addressing child safety. These bills are a trojan horse even in the best of times LET ALONE under this administration

Saw a post saying they hope KOSA passes, and for ONE second I was tempted to reply to them and call them a fool, an absolute buffoon for thinking that shoddy excuse of a “safety” bill is going to help anyone (news flash, it won’t)!

But I didn’t.

Anyway, call your reps!
