its already been shown that our healthcare costs us, that fighting homelessness costs more than just giving people a home, that giving people UBI saves us money in the long run and incentivizes the economy.

The CFPB is one of the most staunch financial watchdogs for the American people.

The agency has returned at least $20B to the victims of financial fraud and abuse since 2011.

It's no longer protecting consumers now...BECAUSE THIS REGIME DOESN'T WANT IT TO!

Trump’s proposing removal of aluminum salts from vaccines. Half of childhood vaccines rely on them (hep A/B, DTaP, Hib, HPV, meningo/pneumococcal). That change would take years, cost billions, and expose millions to preventable diseases despite zero evidence of harm.

The illogic of this is staggering. The No Kings protests in June saw about 3 million people hit the streets. All of them were "FBI agents & losers"?

The allegation of fancy George-Soros-funded signs is also nuts, given that most of the signs are homemade with markers & paint.

SCOOP: Trump Fabricates Story of Hand-to-Hand Combat Between Troops and Child Gangsters in D.C.

Trump’s claim that National Guard members beat child gang members on the streets of Washington was disputed even by the military.

Meanwhile, Justice Gorsuch is nodding along to oral arguments at the Supreme Court about how there’s no racism in politics anymore

This guy was a clerk for Justice Gorsuch. Anyone want to argue this is not a racist (and damn stupid) taunt?

A lot of time and effort has gone into survey research around what is the best protest sign slogan, message, wording etc and to be frank the research is pretty clear the most effective things you can do at a protest are express joy and express camaraderie, don't overthink it

Sorry to harp on this, but another almost-unbelievably terrible unsigned editorial from WaPo. This one has a crucial "tell" that Murdoch's Fleet Street team is in full control.

The tell: Would any US writer refer to Trump as "the American," the way the WaPo does in passage below?
A Washington Post editorial which refers to Trump as "the American."

To spell this out, a native speaker/writer of *American* English would begin next graf:

-"The president should be pleased..."
-"The US should be ..."
-"The Americans should be ..."
-"Mr Trump should be..."

I submit that no competent US writer would choose "The American should be pleased..."

In fairness some of the younger cohort of these people were in fact minors when they were in group chats with 30 something JD Vance

also reminder that it is verifiable fact that 30 something JD Vance was in group chats with minors and the entire political media has ignored this for years
jamellebouie.net
very funny that JD Vance has so little to do with his time that he goes on podcasts to defend 30-year-old men for saying how much they love Hitler
atrupar.com
JD Vance dismisses Young Republicans who in a group chat said "I love Hitler" and joked about slavery and rape as "a bunch of kids" who "told stupid jokes" and adds that "most of the stupid things I did when I was a teenager and young adult, they're not on the internet."

AOC: And they are able to radicalize a generation of young boys in particular, away from healthy masculinity and into an insecure masculinity that requires the domination of others who are poorer, browner, darker, or a different gender than them.

New: Trump officials unveiled a tool intended to help millions of Medicare patients pick their plans, as open enrollment begins today.

But the tool — a directory that was intended to match providers with their plans — was rife with errors, The Post found.

More here w/Akilah Johnson
Medicare doctor directory, a Trump team priority, launches with errors
The directory, intended to help older Americans navigate Medicare Advantage open enrollment, produces conflicting responses about which providers are covered by health plans.

Apropos of nothing, once the President of the United States confirms covert CIA operations in a country… say, Venezuela, those operations are no longer covert.

And it puts CIA officers at significantly more risk.

I read the piece. You shouldn't. He dismisses the "No Kings" protests as liberals in blue cities. He invokes Rosa Parks, as if rural white people in the 60s loved everything that the movement then was doing. "We need a movement but not this one" is a core centrist tact these days.

There's literally no reason for Congress to exist if any random freak in the presidential orbit can nullify laws and seize federal funds. All of this is plainly illegal, but Mike Johnson leads the most corrupt Congress in US history (and by a wide margin.)

The Supreme Court’s majority right wing indicated in oral arguments that they think racism is over on the same day that the vice president defended the “I love Hitler” guy, and that the NYT reported that the current administration plans to accept only white, English-speaking refugees.

Here's an idea for editors and reporters from all outlets: write your stories and headlines as if this administration were Democrats—you know, the only elected officials you hold to any standards, and about whom you frame all stories as if they *shouldn't* be acting illegally or unconstitutionally.
