“We are targeting Venezuela because of DRUGS, not OIL, which is why we are blowing up boats without any drugs and stealing a tanker full of oil.”

People keep wondering why they're going after Venezuela. It's because they want to do regime change and control its oil, then use a big tract of land there to keep a tax free "network state" that looks like Dubai but operates like Rhodesia. They are saying this out loud! Believe them!

MAGA trying to tell us that tightening the belts is the patriotic thing to do. WSJ, NYT and WaPo all publishing editorials about how it's all Joe the Plumber's fault that things are in shambles because he's not spending more. YOU tanked the economy by not buying a new TV! Only one doll for you!!
The economy is doing great! So good!

Piers isn't exactly my favorite person either, but this is classic.
PIERS: “You’re not gay?”
FUENTES: “No. But women are very difficult to be around.”
P: “Should they vote?”
F: “No.”
PIERS: “They should stay home?”
FUENTES: “Yeah.”
PIERS: “So you’re just a misogynistic dinosaur. Have you ever had sex?”
FUENTES: “No.”
PIERS: “Wow. Says the guy who never got laid.”

LEGENDS. Just saw Sigourney on the cover of AARP Magazine. We're all fogies.
I've loved Sigourney Weaver ever since one of my all-time favorite movies, ALIEN. Couldn't resist going all fanboy on her yesterday & asking for a photo. She told me she's now in the cast of The Mandalorian. Talk about bad timing: she's now in that galaxy far, far away, years after I checked out! 💔

Rage bait much? I don’t have half an hour to watch this. It can’t be an accurate list because Porky’s isn’t on it. HBO was verboten so I had a traumatic Fraggle Rock-free childhood. What I remember was the big weekend movie premieres. If you missed it, the film would keep airing at 3am for a month.
Anyone who thinks that movies nowadays aren’t as good as they used to be should watch this - trailers of the most aired movies on HBO in the 1980s.

There’s always been crappy movies, you just forgot all those.

This is all assuming that democracy *will* return. Do you realize we haven’t even endured a year of the second term yet? If we sit on our heels and hope for things to get better when and if numbnutz leaves office, there won’t be anything left to save. He needs to be declared unfit and removed now.
The Supreme Court, Presidency, Senate and two party system are all quite anti-democratic institutions as presently constructed.

Our institutions are not only incapable of preventing tyranny—they’re currently enabling it.

When democracy returns, we need to reform our political system.

Apparently as long as Trump and MSM continue to distract us from the daily ICE atrocities. It never makes the news. The bot farms kick into high gear around every post about it in support of deporting people. Gas prices are dropping, Christmas is coming, nothing to see here sheeple.
How long are we as a civil society going to let ICE do what they are doing.?

My brain works in mysterious ways. Let's talk Wayne's World, because for some reason that ancient SNL routine with Aerosmith guest starring popped into my head. It brought up an absurdity from my youth. My youth was full of them. I started watching SNL because Dad was a fan. It was great then. /1

I make every effort not to feed the Bezos machine. We bought a metal bed frame and they kept suggesting that we want ten more beds. They shipped the wrong size, said don’t bother to send it back, replaced it for free. I sold the incorrect one on Marketplace. They make so much money they don’t care.
however many trillions spent on developing Algorithms and hoovering up as much data as possible and amazon's recommendation algorithm still goes "oh you bought one window air conditioner? okay, do you want 15 more?"

Dan Rather is a national treasure. I knew this even as a kid when he anchored CBS Evening News. I called him Dan The Man.
Spot on, Mr. Rather. 🎯 💯

Gaming ceased to be about fun long ago. Nothing but one huge money grab. “Oh you bought a physical copy for $80? Well it won’t work without a $120 subscription.”

We have this yearly tradition of going to Electric Safari at our zoo every December. They’ve added a drone show which is pretty cool. My favorite is of course the wolf.

It’s a slippery slope. Barbie is a great movie. The Toy Story franchise for example was fantastic up to 3. 4 & 5 are cash grabs to sell merch and Disneyland tickets. Movie studios are afraid of a film being a success ON ITS OWN MERITS. They don’t want audiences THINKING, they want them buying stuff.
I can’t get over how Barbie succeeded because it offered tangible ways for women and girls to celebrate each other (and dress up and go to the movies together) but studios thought it worked because it’s about toys so now they’re making like Bananagrams the movie

But we’re all distracted by Netflix buying something and cheap gas. Carry on with your Christmas shopping, nothing to see here. It’s your patriotic duty.
The US government is summarily executing people on a weekly basis without telling the American people any of their names or presenting any proof of their guilt, for alleged crimes that do not carry the death penalty in the US.

Yep, the ones yelling the loudest have crosses and scripture in their bios. I don’t read the comments anymore because they’re so toxic and full of bots. Way past time to pull the plug. My FB account is old enough to vote, but the argument of staying in touch is nonsense.
Over on the Facebook, you can bet that whether it's ICE brutalizing immigrant toddlers, or the US military mass-murdering civilians in international waters, every person cheering it on makes sure that you know they are a "Christian" in their profile. Every. Single. One.

I have no doubt they’re fudging the numbers. First of all, the right doesn’t want anyone to believe boycotts actually work. Secondly, Trump & Co want us to believe his tariffs are a good thing, not tanking the economy.
Black Friday sales numbers are a lie claiming a 4.1% to 9% increase.

Physical traffic was flat with us & other, what sold was clearance.

Online traffic was similar.

Total items purchased were down.

Inflation and tariffs are why sales were up and not people having more money to spend.

I noticed this in Colorado Springs years ago. We attract scumbag fast cash businesses. (Vape shops, storage units, check cashing joints, pawn shops. It all also caters to the vast military presence here.) We’re losing grocery stores though. Food desert with sparkling clean cars.
Anyone know what the fuck is going on with new car washes being built everywhere?

Is it a future water rights scam?

I was one of those naive readers in the 2010s excited for the next GRRM book. Then a decade went by, I sold my first editions on eBay and gave up. Never watched the series, never will. If Winds of Winter ever comes out (it won’t), any fucks I had to give are long gone.
Spoiler alert: The last one is never coming.

I love 80s music. The good, the bad & the ugly. This song is awful. It took everything saccharine sweet about the era and rolled it into a nonsensical celebration of cocaine-fueled 80s Wall Street culture, how great it is to be stuck in traffic and turned it into an overplayed chart topping earworm.
ABSOLUTELY NOT

This is a trash song with trash lyrics and trash production that is the absolute worst thing ever to escape Bernie Taupin's head, it sounds like cocaine heavily cut with baby powder and expired laxative feels, if 80s pop music were the Hapsburgs, this song is Charles II of Spain.
“We Built This City” is a good song, actually www.pastemagazine.com/music/starsh... I never understood the hate for that song. There are truly terrible songs. This isn't one of them.

Another argument for pulling the plug on Instagram. Anyone else have this issue? Account status says “good” with no community standards violations, but I’m banned from commenting on anything at all. There is nowhere to tap to “tell them we made a mistake”. I’ve submitted several tickets.
