I’ve become a pessimist. You are correct. Trump and the GOP are laughing at the protests. He responds with AI and tears down part of the White House. He’s king and can do whatever he wants. I won’t say something wasn’t weird about the election, but problem #1 was PEOPLE NOT SHOWING UP AND VOTING.

People think I’ve pulled out a tin foil hat mentioning this. All it’ll take is the Melon Felon declaring a state of emergency to suspend elections. If we’re shocked he’s tearing down part of the White House, are we all going to stand around hand wringing when Democracy completely grinds to a halt?

Since when has the law meant anything to him? He did not go through the proper channels to do this, but he does not care. It’s how he operates; shock and awe everyone so they’ll forget about the Epstein files. Also, a general strike will only work if even more people participate than No Kings.

Every streaming service is evil in some way. I guess all you can do is buy used vinyl or CDs, that way no corporations profit. I mean hit the thrift stores and independent record stores, NOT eBay. Unfortunately that means the artists don’t profit, but they sure as fuck gain nothing from Spotify.

It’s a big ask, but I’d love it if there was a streaming app not owned by evil people AND had a way to import your playlists from Spotify. It took me years to build them up, and one of them has a not too shabby following now. Oh well.

We all see the past through rose colored glasses. There were some good times for me, but it was the most awkward and frustrating time of my life. Add to that I was bullied mercilessly from about 3rd grade until 11th because it was the 80s and 90s and you just had to get through it. Good times. /fin

is the name of the person who decided dances were a good idea for 12-13 year old kids to develop their social skills. In the midst of the shitstorm of hormones and utter confusion about the opposite sex. Both of my own teenagers begged off the middle school dances. My parents made me go. /3

When Dustin keeps getting rebuffed by girls, my god that was me. I ended up stuck with the math teacher’s daughter through all 8 minutes and two seconds of Stairway to Heaven because the alternative was standing there by myself through the slow song from hell. I’m sure lost to the mists of time /2

Continuing my Stranger Things rewatch because boy do I need a break. I said this back in 2017 (!!) as well. I don’t think any nostalgia heavy show has ever captured the true essence of a middle school dance as well as ST. I was thrown back to Lyle Jr High, 1988, and what a hot mess it was for me. /1

Early estimates say 12 to 15,000 showed up in my city bright red far right Colorado Springs. If true, it’s the largest protest in the city’s history. Not my photo, but it didn’t capture the whole scene.

It’s a 1990 Festiva. Sorry about that. I’m sort of a car guy when it comes to noticing old regular cars. Definitely don’t look up IMCDB. (Internet Movie Car Database) Lots of period vehicle errors that I didn’t need to know either. 😺

Another Stranger Things binge with S5 looming. It’s very period accurate, but it bugs me the perfectionist that there’s a yellow Ford Festiva in front of Hawkins High in S1/1983. The Festiva didn’t debut in the US until the 1988 model year, and it’s even a later model. Might add more nitpicks later.
