I thought this was the best nickname I’ve ever created.
I’m also extremely punchy from endless travel, but I think it deserves some kind of prize.

Anyway, he learned English by playing Destiny 2 with people in US and UK!

He is a solar warlock (the best class IMHO).

HB in a thumbnail sketch. The place has (had?) a record shop called Vinyl Solution and the guy who was sent to repair our apartment’s bathroom was covered in WP tats. If you aren’t paying attention you may not notice how gross it is, easy to be hypnotized by the beach and tacos.

It’s going to be incredible how the first 25 years of the 21st century are going to be a black hole for future historians in terms of how much art, writing, and basic correspondence (emails!) they’re used to for other periods is just gone.

I was pretty sure I had interviewed Marc Maron at some point. I could not have told you when it was or even what publication it was for never mind what we talked about. But the actual interview is nowhere to be found. So much of my past work is gone. So much of everything is gone.

Conversely, had a wonderful hourlong conversation with a Swiss-German in the ER about the FDA (!!!). He knew more about our judicial system than most Americans I’ve met by a country mile. Wow.

Another thing Americans may not be prepared for re: German hospitals: the number of people riding bikes through the lobby. Exponentially greater than I’ve ever seen before (zero is previous record vs 5 so far today).

I’m saving some money and returning from Europe early.
Well, it costs money to change my flight but way less than rooms, food, parking, gas, incidentals etc etc etc.
Traveling alone for 16 days would’ve been a dream in my 30s but now it’s just too long away from family.
