Greetings from Georgia.
My “old guy” face is really kicking in. 51. 🤷🏽‍♂️
Old ugly bald guy with stubble and glasses sitting before a yellow curtain and some shelving.

Robocop is a movie about a guy who gets killed on the job and they still made him go back to work

I thought this was the best nickname I’ve ever created.
I’m also extremely punchy from endless travel, but I think it deserves some kind of prize.

Anyway, he learned English by playing Destiny 2 with people in US and UK!

He is a solar warlock (the best class IMHO).

There’s a great nurse here whom I’ve been calling “Germany Chalamet”.

He could be a double.

Incredibly proud to have my Arrow essay debut included in such a great film. So proud of this one

A real treat. My favorite since good humor.

HB in a thumbnail sketch. The place has (had?) a record shop called Vinyl Solution and the guy who was sent to repair our apartment’s bathroom was covered in WP tats. If you aren’t paying attention you may not notice how gross it is, easy to be hypnotized by the beach and tacos.

NEW: Huntington Beach, California passed an anti-voting resolution using false data from an election conspiracy group to stoke baseless fears about election integrity, underscoring how anti-voting groups' efforts are tightening voting rules even at the state and local level.

It’s going to be incredible how the first 25 years of the 21st century are going to be a black hole for future historians in terms of how much art, writing, and basic correspondence (emails!) they’re used to for other periods is just gone.

I was pretty sure I had interviewed Marc Maron at some point. I could not have told you when it was or even what publication it was for never mind what we talked about. But the actual interview is nowhere to be found. So much of my past work is gone. So much of everything is gone.
No lessons learned
Come see me at The Sinclair in Cambridge on Saturday November 8 with Dave Wedge, Bill Shaner, Eoin Higgins, and Evan Greer; Wednesday November 12 at the Francis Kite Club in New York City with Spencer...

Conversely, had a wonderful hourlong conversation with a Swiss-German in the ER about the FDA (!!!). He knew more about our judicial system than most Americans I’ve met by a country mile. Wow.

I really want to tell you about the Americans in this restaurant in Germany who are drunk and raving about how awesome THE SPIN DOCTORS are, but I want to respect their privacy.

I mean, the sign near it says you’re supposed to sing “happy birthday” twice while using it…

Another thing Americans may not be prepared for re: German hospitals: the number of people riding bikes through the lobby. Exponentially greater than I’ve ever seen before (zero is previous record vs 5 so far today).

Plus, OWYN protein shakes are all we ever get so I’m happy to read that info!
mteague.bsky.social
Really interesting read. CR is a treasure. Also: there’s a “safe” amount of lead to consume each day!?!

my latest investigation for @consumerreports.org is based on months of reporting and 60+ lab tests of leading protein supplements

we found that most protein powders and shakes have more lead in one serving than our experts say is safe to have in a day (🧵)

Happiest of birthdays to the cuddly and phenomenal Wayne Pygram, actor and gourmet.
Lunchtime on the Farscape lot: Paul Goddard, Wayne Pygram (in Scorpius makeup & headpiece and wearing a purple bathrobe), and Ricky Manning (in Mambo shirt and shorts). Photo by Sean Redlitz, 7 March 2001. Wayne Pygram munches on a bird-of-paradise flower at the Getty Museum, Los Angeles, in 2002. Farscape vidcap: Scorpius munches on a bit of Crichton's brain tissue, as one does.

I’m saving some money and returning from Europe early.
Well, it costs money to change my flight but way less than rooms, food, parking, gas, incidentals etc etc etc.
Traveling alone for 16 days would’ve been a dream in my 30s but now it’s just too long away from family.
