“Do you believe in fate?” asks Senjuro, The Black Demon, to all those who cross his path. Victim or guide.

A masterless, mixed-race samurai, Senjuro skulks through the shadows of an evolving feudal Japan, seeking to serve...but the age of the Samurai flickers on the winds of modernization, and any work to be had is less than honorable. That is until Claire, a wealthy British explorer and anthropologist, swings through the tavern doors seeking aid from the man whose reputation precedes him; the one they call The Black Demon. Her family has just been monstrously slain and exsanguinated, and signs point to perpetrators beyond human. Along with Claire and her Sikh companion Jangveer, Senjuro the Black Demon must face hell on earth to deliver their reckoning, and in the process, find the honor he so desperately seeks.

From the singular mind of Ibrahim Moustafa, who turned time inside out in RETROACTIVE, reimagined The Count of Monte Cristo as a sci-fi epic in COUNT, and put the Western back in Space Western with CYN, comes a thriller that combines worlds have been long-destined to meet, but will collide for the first time within these pages.

Accompanied by an image of our samurai, Claire, and Jangveer in Sikh armor standing at a portcullis with fang-like spikes, dripping with blood.

Guess I’m not watching WonderMan.

Marvel employees were asked whether the 'WONDER MAN' poster for the in-universe movie was created using Al.
"Its artwork made by artists but touched up by Al," which was clarified with "so, really Al-assisted Photoshop work," and the response was "yes."

Double and triple check videos being released from Portland, Chicago etc. We’re all going to be fed a steady diet of AI horse shit created solely to justify mass arrests. When we do have to throw down, make sure it’s for the real thing.

Yeah dude, modern cars are like lego kits, lol. Everything's packed in tight and shrouded in plastic. IT sucks.
ibrahimmoustafa.bsky.social
Yeah man, I had to replace my first modern headlight a few years ago and I was taken aback by how much just the light assemblies cost now. They used to be like $50 on newer cars and even that felt steep. My old Cutlass was as simple as replacing a bulb for $5, lol.

If you have to ask the dealership and you don't know what the part is, have a VIN ready and tell them what you're after, and they can help you find it. Then look online to see if their own website has it for less $, lol.
ibrahimmoustafa.bsky.social
Something to add to this: back when I worked in parts, the only way to look up the very tedious parts information was to go to a dealership's parts dept and ask then to look it up for you, or to dig thru old manuals. Now, it's all online; diagrams, part #s, supercessions, etc.

All that is to say, ALWAYS shop around on car stuff if you can. There's often a third party part that costs a fraction of the OEM price, & while the dealership techs are experts in newer vehicles, they're always going to charge obscene prices for something you can probably find a tutorial for online
ibrahimmoustafa.bsky.social
That part is so helpful to know. I'm lucky enough to have a lot of what's needed for that, but you never know when there's that one niche thing or expensive tool that you don't need often enough to justify owning. Thanks!

How much does the light ACTUALLY cost? Service rep quoted $195. I look on the dealership's own website: $89.

Luckily I used to work in an auto parts dept. so this shit doesn't work on me, lol.

So I'm gonna go pick up the car & rell the guy I'm walking 20ft to his own parts dept to save $100

Tech's time/labor is worth $. Trim had to be removed to diagnose, so, worth it. Turns out it's a bead gasket on the cyclops light.

Quoted addtl $200 for the light assembly (can't buy gasket alone)
$200+ for labor.

Min $400 to replace a tail light if diag fee dropped, max $600+ for A TAIL LIGHT

I am KNEE-DEEP in fuckery today

My wife's car had a rear hatch leak. Small line of water. I suspected a bad seal or a clogged sunroof drain, but we took it to the dealership b/c this struck me as a known-issue, and nobody knows known-issues better than them.

$200 for a diagnosis- fine. (cont'd)

Just putting this out there as a warning not to waste your time with this guy, who is happy to waste ours with Ai bullshit.

Comics Folks: Heads up.

Got an effusive email from a Benjamin Alexander, re: one of my books, but the way it was written screamed of Ai.

Asked "thoughtful" questions, I replied b/c "what if I'm being rude to someone being genuine?", but the reply was DEF Ai. Tried to sell me on some marketing svc

2025 has been a helluva yer to turn 40 in.

I can't tell if I'm approaching a midlife crisis, or if I'm extremely regular and it's just the fact that the world is in crisis 🙃

I may never know which it is/was 😬

#Comics folks, I need you to pull up to this one.

The world sucks right now, and we have the opportunity to do a little bit of good for a displaced and marginalized member of our community. Please join me in supporting this KS campaign!

www.kickstarter.com/projects/den...
If you're somebody who values supporting marginalized voices in comics, here's your chance to put your money where your values are!

The writer of this RINGO NOM’D INDIE COMIC (and a very dear friend of mine) is a Syrian Refugee who has been through more continuous hardships than I have space to list here; constantly navigating visa applications, unstable living conditions, predatory landlords (limited options as a refugee).

Anas just wants to make comics and live a normal life like what so many of us take for granted. Backing this campaign will help Anas to take the next step toward freedom and autonomy, helping to fund a move to another country with more stable employment options. This is truly one of the most important comics purchases you will ever make.

Middle Eastern and North African comics creators are some of the most underrepresented in the comics industry of the western world. Anas isn’t running a GoFundMe to support this move, and is not asking for charity. Simply, Anas is using their talent for storytelling, along with Dennis’ gorgeous art, to offer you a beautiful experience in the comics medium, that also goes toward funding a better life for Anas.

I’m so proud of Anas, and humbled by their experiences and perseverance. I would like to see Anas’ Dream realized, and I’d love to see this community help to make that happen. Please join me in pledging to the Etheres Kickstarter campaign! (link below). Etheres cover B
