Yup, they got the sanctioned tanker. THANK GOD, I was legit worried he just ordered the US Navy to commit actual piracy. Lololol. This is 100% defensible, even tho a lot of people are gonna really hate hearing that.

the defensiveness and incredulity of a good chunk of the commentary class toward arguments about trump’s racism is, imho, downstream of the same impulse behind the endless trump voter safaris and self-flagellation about being out of touch with the heartland
Thinking back to how people were "hysterical" for calling trump white supremacist and now he's doing nordic theory on the campaign trail

Shocking ahistorical error on NPR's Morning Edition, which stated as fact that America had "record" inflation under Biden, a frequent fact-free Trump claim.
Biden topped 9%, then brought it down to under 3%.
The record? 23.7% in 1920, but also 14.4% in 1947, and 14.8% as the '70s became the '80s.

CNN's hardly the most profitable part of Warner Bros. But the Trumper combine - including the Ellisons, Kushner and several Gulf dictatorships - see that owning CNN could allow them to implement the Orban/Al Jazeera model of state/ideological control of the news media at a broad, international scale
The battle to buy WBD, CNN's parent company, brings to mind what Hungary's PM Viktor Orban did. Taking control of the media was key to consolidating power. He did it in part by helping wealthy supporters acquire news outlets, ensuring favorable news coverage

Actually I don't remember that. In fact, Schumer, who was an architect of the shutdown strategy opposed it. There are plenty of legitimate reasons to criticize D leaders. But those who harvest clicks by making stuff up should not be cluttering this platform up with such posts.
Remember when Schumer and Dems capitulated the end of the shutdown to maga on the promise of a vote on ACA subsidies "around" December 11th? Those fascists must be cracking the hell up.

Finally, a politician with the courage to stand up to Big Pencil.
Trump: "You can give up certain products. You could give up pencils. Because under the China policy, every child can get 37 pencils. They only need 1 or 2. They don't need that many. You always need steel. You don't need 37 dolls for your daughter. 2 or 3 is nice. So we're doing things right."

He will make it up, just like he made up the lie that my team censored 22 million tweets. Except this time, he’ll be making up lies about people living outside of the US, pretending they are “linked to the CIA” —his usual bullshit trope, which has real consequences in some countries. He won’t care.
