the current update is that i am still without meds, but they should! be delivered today. roughly $200 with insurance. needed a prior auth that the dr’s office was stalled on, despite it being doable in minutes via a phone call (and me informing them of such)
$2,800 to refill the creon without it a prior authorization, which is obviously a totally normal and reasonable number

due to a number of doctor snafus, i had undiagnosed acute pancreatitis for so long that it became chronic pancreatitis that then damaged the pancreas so that i no longer produce the enzymes needed to properly digest food without medications (thanks, mayo clinic!)

i got my very blonde eyebrows microbladed years ago. they never quite looked the way i wanted them too. now the ink has mostly fallen out but remains JUST dark enough that i don’t think i can pull off vulcan eyebrows

usually the anus is stuffed with cotton before the AV plug is placed. during the embalming process, a sharp tipped tool called a trocar is used to pierce the abdomen so that we can suction out fluids & semi solids & add cavity fluid. once that’s done, gas build up should not be a problem…
Okay, but now I'm wondering if it has to be tightened. Or do they periodically remove it to vent? (Depending on how busy the funeral home is, it could be a week or more to burial. That's a long time for gas buildup.)
Even better (worse, so much worse), it's threaded like a giant screw.

this is not technically true. decedents leak; there is no active farting because the anal sphincter can no longer open or close. the plugs are to stop leakage of fluids, usually liquid feces, sometimes blood or fluids related to decomp
