Pride in STEM are still looking for nominations for this award - you have until the 1st March!

If you would like to consider me - over the last 5 years I have done asexual in STEM advocacy, engaged LGBTQ+ folks with science and helped raise the visibility of LGBTQ+ scientists in education.
In April, #PrideinSTEM turns 10! We will have a celebration for it, and we would like to recognize individuals who have had a positive impact on LGBTQIA+ People in STEM, here in the UK!

Do you know someone who fits that description?

Nominate them here:

You can't... repeal... a scientific finding. At that point it's just called lying about it.
Breaking News: The Trump administration repealed the bedrock scientific finding that greenhouse gases threaten human life and well being, meaning that the EPA can no longer regulate them. nyti.ms/4rSszQu

Tubaria hiemalis, aka Tubaria furfuracea var. hiemalis is known as the Winter twiglet. A feature of this fungi is that some of the larger caps curl back on themselves showing their gills. It is a common winter/spring fungi but it is a new species for this site in Cambridge.

One amongst many reasons I won't use "AI". I'm autistic. By definition that means my brain thinks differently to the majority. AI spits out the average of its training set. By design it will water down my thoughts into mediocrity. I've done a lot of work to learn to celebrate my square-peg brain.

We're calling on our members to help force the Government to reconsider its proposed cuts to astronomy and space science, which would be the most drastic in a generation.

A reminder of one of the loveliest pairs of siblings in the dictionary: ‘muscle’ and ‘mouse’. To the Roman imagination, the flexed biceps of a (typically naked) athlete resembled a rodent scuttling under the skin. ‘Musculus’, in Latin, means ‘little mouse’.

- They don’t want you to believe the thousands of women who were victims of Epstein

This is horrifying for so many reasons. The one I'm thinking of right now is the billion dollars spent to torture and terrorize and imprison people could easily buy all of us healthcare, child care, parental leave, affordable housing ... all the things the Epstein Class swears we can't afford.
In the last month ICE has bought warehouses in:

- Hagerstown, MD: $102 million
- Surprise, AZ: $70 million
- Hamburg, PA: $87 million
- Tremont, PA: $120 million
- San Antonio, TX: $82 million
- El Paso, TX: $123 million
- Social Circle, GA: price unknown

This is unprecedented.
