HUGE UPDATE: Between folks here and some local friends, we managed to raise enough to cover their rent and utilities for a month. I'm blown away by the kindness of strangers, this is literally life-changing for this family. Thank you all so much!
If you want to help in the short term, you can Venmo/PayPal me (@kfoleyfl). We're going to the store later today to get them groceries for the next few weeks. I'm also working on figuring out what else they need. Things like gas, rent, and utilities. Whatever they need, we're not leaving them alone.
We found out that one of my percussion students had his dad taken by ICE two weeks ago and is being held in Georgia. I'm trying to pool together resources to help get the family some groceries and help with bills. Just need to figure out the best way to do that.
