If you have a chance to go see The 4th Witch at the Emerson Paramount Center, I highly recommend it! There are two more shows, at 8 tonight and 2 tomorrow.
There are mirrors and shadow puppets and actors in profile. They invite folks up on stage to see the setup.

TIL!!!
African mollies (Poecilia formosa) are almost all female, and reproduce gynogenetically, which is clonal reproduction that requires sperm from another species to trigger embryogenesis (but does not contribute DNA) to offspring!

No males? No problem for all-female fish species | CBC News
An all-female freshwater fish species called the Amazon molly is living proof that sexual reproduction may be vastly overrated, scientists say after analyzing its DNA.

TWENTY YEARS AGO I posted about how easy it is to get around any sort of flag-burning law/amendment/executive order/whatever, and here we are today, having it have some relevance. Also our current president is a feculent spoon.

If you can help the World Central Kitchen in Gaza, please do. Donate dollars. Call your reps. Share their story in your communities to invite help.

I'm listening to @aptshadow.bsky.social/Adrian Tchaikovsky'sService Model, read by the author, and having a very fun time of it. It's got many of my favorite things, done quite well, and Adrian's voices and narration are, of course, spot on.

If you expected Google's URL shortened to work forever, there's news for you. (I think I've used it ever, but hopefully had the good sense to observe what Google usually does with its tools, eventually)

Finally settling down to read a book (John Scalzi's "Starter Villain") by looking at it, because I don't need to be multi-tasking every moment. And because my libraries don't have the audiobook version, I suppose.

DRM-free books have worked great. People who want to support me with a purchase support me. People who do not want to support me with a purchase will not be dissuaded by DRM. DRM is basically security theater for electronic files.
@scalzi.com Just got a Kobo, finding it tough to source DRM-free books. Noticed you offer them—curious how that’s worked out for you economically as an author? I did buy "When the Moon hits your Eye" and am looking forward to reading it.

In Swiftkey at the end of a word, I can hit capitalize and instead it puts a space and predicts the next word. I keep writing "kiko" and it predicts the lowercase word, and I tap the up arrow that means Capitalize, and it adds a space, so I then have to press "backspace", "Capitalize".

I believe Sinners is the only one if these I've seen. I've got some catching up to do.
Following how good Sinners was, my friend group tried to negotiate our top ten vampire movies. It was contentious, but we agreed upon this unranked list:

Abigail
Blade
Blood Red Sky
From Dusk till Dawn
Let the Right One In
Shadow of the Vampire
Sinners
Thirst
Vampire Hunter D
