King, police abolition is not about defunding every department instantly. It's about a gradual process o strategically reallocating resources, funding and responsibility away from police and toward community based models of safety, support and prevention. The people who respond to crises in our community should be people who are best equipped to deal with those crisis.

Friend I want to echo that last statement and dig down a little further. Crime isn't random. Most off the time, it happens when someone has been unable to meet their basic needs through other means. By shifting money away from police and toward services that actually meet those needs, we'll be able to get to a place where we won't need to rob banks.

This is bigger than just police brutality; it's about how the prison industrial complex, the drug war, immigration law and the web of policy, law and culture that forms our criminal justice system has destroyed millions o lives, and torn apart families. Now that im doing composing stuff and trying to add live guitar stuff to it and thinking about like. Needing a clean take etc, im struggling with not accidentally muting strings during chords and looking up "how to hold guitar" just gives me like "PUT YOUR LEFT HAND, ON THE FRETS ,"

One of the best fun facts I have is that I worked at the winery where the grape lady fell off the platform when I first got out of college and she fell because she insisted the winery workers pick it up and turn it around so the safety rail would be behind her because she didn’t want it in the shot

I think its easy to posture AI hate as the same as people who didn't get the internet or synthesizers or whatever but genuinely none of those things we take for granted now had basically every cool and respected artist go "this sucks shit actually lol" like AI has

submersible expedition out to Titanic the previous year with the

I'm concerned that one thing game companies will use genAI for is populating background details like fake magazines, store shelf products, and book covers. This is what they're trying to take from us. This is what's at stake. (Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines, Dead Rising, and Plastic Battlegrounds VR)

fake magazines mayday with plane, dead bird with bird photo, doggies with growling dog, greed with money in hand, slums downtown living, pain and suffering, chin, women whaler, eorm, energy, super punks.

fake cereals boo boo, blue honey, count ohoculo, meaties, storrios, fruit butte, mmmmy mmmy, by fake bags of chips.

I have proudly never used Spotify because, to me, giving 99% of the money to some tech dipshit instead of the artist feels way worse than giving no money to anyone and just pirating

Genuinely never got into it thankfully since my understanding is that the artists get significantly less money for streams than if they just like, upload the albums as youtube videos
