Things get more interesting at the edges and boundaries. We can do better than this. Brum-based; charity/social justice sector; music; environment & nature; church and politics.

Sickening rhetoric by Home Secretary. Denying access to human rights isn't "protecting the public". This is Labour further demonising those seeking asylum in language very reminiscent of the far right. Yes, some break the law, so should be prosecuted within the law. Removing rights is not the answer

In normal times, it would be a major scandal for the President to direct his AG to criminally investigate his political opponents to deflect from his own involvement in a major scandal — and for the AG to immediately announce she is doing it. The Epstein scandal and cover up just got even bigger.

There is nothing that demonstrates more strongly that America is firmly in a post-Christian era … than the fact that believers (even clergy) are arguing over whether hungry and marginalized people are worth feeding.

The sheer greasy desperation from these bastards that any violent crime is committed by an immigrant so they can continue their grift. Even when they know it isn't true. Foul.
Matt Goodwin attributes a crime that he now knows appears to have been committed by people born in Britain in the early 1990s to "mass uncontrolled immigration"

Oh dear.
There is no difference.
Both Tory and Reform are peddling racism for votes. Pochin *and* Jenrick were racist and twisting yourself into an ugly knot to try to claim otherwise is just a collapse of your own dignity as well as your morality.
Lewis Goodall pressing Chris Philp on the difference between what Sarah Pochin said and what Robert Jenrick said about 'white faces'.

Erm, no. No this policy does not need "clarification". It needs condemnation. They have been pretty clear what they want, the mass deportation of people living and working here, families ripped apart, and xenophobia and racism embedded further as government policy

Don’t give these people benefit of the doubt. This racist rant isn’t an accident. Or ‘speaking out of turn’.

It’s designed to fill our airwaves with people debating ‘if’ non white skin is a problem. Not Reform.

Diversity isn’t the issue, hatred is. Don’t indulge it, vote for it or tolerate it.

Today was one of those days with ridiculous music release schedule. Superb new and archive albums from Rafael Toral, Tortoise, Mike Parker, Traumprinz, Jon Porras, and Squarepusher. Plus remixes from Rafael Anton Irisarri. Where to start?! @blackknoll.bsky.social @rtoral.bsky.social

Thank you @david4bkh.bsky.social and Stirchley / Brum neighbours.
Today, Stirchley residents put on a family event, with music and chalk for kids, to show we can celebrate our city. The community came together to say we will not allow our nations' flags to be used to divide us or intimidate our neighbours.
I'm incredibly proud to be born and raised in Stirchley ❤️‍🔥
