Stay for all the deer pics and mountain scenery.
Every AI/bot ad is just a scream for help.

The people developing these tools need to get some real, human friends.

(I don’t think most gamers are the lonely stereotype these folks think they are in ads like this, btw.)
just saw the worst gaming ad ive ever seen

Remember the recent middle-of-the-night apartment building raid where children were dragged outside naked & zip-tied in the street while black & Latino residents were _sorted by race_ and piled into separate vans while their apartments were ransacked & robbed? That raid? So it resulted in 0 arrests.

Before ACA, I regularly had patients who bought insurance they thought was "best for them". I've seen $50k annual max, $500k lifetime max, plans w/ no Rx coverage, plans *carving out* cancer treatment, plans that denied leukemia treatment because prior iron deficiency anemia was a pre-existing. /1

The last 30 seconds of a basketball game feels like forever.

Maybe for every foul committed under a minute, you also lose 5 seconds off the game clock.

I gave a piano recital today for mule deer.

Technically, they were just sitting near an open window where I happened to be playing the piano… BUT, they stuck around until I was done.

Still counts.

We can never thank Alice enough for fighting all the good fights and especially all the hard fights. We all learned so much from your brilliance, your courage, and your indefatigable leadership. We will never forget you.

The weirdest thing about this discourse is that states with shorter school closures have the same amount of learning loss! I keep waiting for all the punditry on this to catch up with basic facts
Every time Covid and learning loss hits the news, people act like the only factor is folk staying home and learning online, rather than… Living through a global mass death event.

I see it’s time to break this post out again.
If you’re one of those people who continually replies to posts with something like,

“Yeah, of course it’s illegal, but they’ll never face any consequences…”

You’re part of the problem.

If you 🤷‍♀️ and do nothing, of course there won’t be consequences.

Castle Rock v. Gonzales is, no joke, my Roman Empire.

Once you learn the full details of this horrific case, you will never again be able to see policing as a force for safety or justice.

It will permanently alter your understanding of state violence, gender, and race in this country.
In 1999, a woman named Jessica Gonzales sought and obtained an order of protection against her physically abusive husband ("AH"), who had repeatedly threatened to kill her and their three children. The order included language specifically limiting when and where AH was allowed to see the children.

I wish that the taxpayers who say “I’m fine with them raising my taxes to fund the police” could understand that they’re actually paying for bloated departments (not to mention militarization) and all the resulting lawsuits/payouts for overreach and abuse of power.
