In the early early early 90s there was that brief magical period of time when desktop publishing wasn't affordable for many at home, yet you could go to a place like Kinko's and rent time on a desktop computer hooked up to a laser printer
Kinkos was open 24 hours - not just one Kinkos, but lots of Kinkos. It was a great time to be making zines.
