I've reached the point in my current home improvement project where I'm just hitting things with a screwdriver.

commodifying differences of opinion?!?!

We've watched - dumbstruck - as social media has been manipulated by prioritizing divisiveness.

It sounds like kalshi is trying to cut out the social media middleman and veneer of plausible deniability to pour gasoline on the fire of our division for 💰💰💰.
The co-founder of Kalshi says: " The long-term vision is to financialize everything and create a tradable asset out of any difference in opinion."

Dumb and xenophobic.
Rep. Kat Cammarck: "Today, one in six people in the US is foreign born. That quite frankly is not sustainable to maintain a culture that we are known for here in the United States."

I subscribe to @404media.co & I think it is among the best uses of my resources.

Their reporting consistently promotes the #CommonGood.

Do check it out.
One thing we're vvv proud of: 404 Media independent + journalist-owned. Here's a rundown of some of our recent work:

After months of 404 Media reporting and pressure from lawmakers, US airlines will shut down a program that sold millions of YOUR flight records to the government.
Airlines Will Shut Down Program That Sold Your Flights Records to Government
The move comes after intense pressure from lawmakers and 404 Media’s months-long reporting about the airline industry's data selling practices.

This is one of my U.S. senators & he is doing a fine job of repeating stupid talking points
Sen. Eric Schmitt: "This is the language of a color revolution where you're calling on military men and women to disobey orders."

Sometimes it is hard to say if a patient has decision-making capacity

A good read - it can be quite difficult to accept the autonomy of patients.

“He articulated to everyone who asked that although he did not want to die, he would prefer death to a pacemaker’s potential complications, especially the possibility of infection…A cardiologist spent hours at his bedside, trying to get to know him… to find some opening that would persuade him”

Well. Then I hereby impeach the current president.
It should go without saying, but the president has no authority to do this, and anyone reporting the story needs to say as such.

As others have commented, cruelty is the point.
SCOOP: The Trump administration has instructed employees and grantees not to use U.S. funds to commemorate World AIDS Day — because the observance was started by the World Health Organization.

The spiritual abuse chronicled in this book is just evil; including of course the alleged human trafficking.

Placing power & money over people is always wrong. Hopefully the church will be given the grace to overcome & correct these abuses.
