As I read this, I'm thinking about the man I interviewed who had to be hospitalized from the Covid he caught at the poultry processing plant and he got fired for it and he still has long Covid
During the height of the pandemic, Tyson used Palantir to predict Covid-19 infections among meatpacking workers down to a nearly exactly figure. But rather than using this data to increase worker protections, Tyson used it plan for labor shortages + plant closures

Why is the old-fashioned phrase “piss and vinegar” so funny? I just typed it into a text message and thought, god that’s revolting, but it was exactly what I wanted to say. And there’s no good alternate! So i sent the text.

Instead of an austerity budget, we should be creating good jobs in science, research, green energy, and capitalizing on the areas the US is failing to invest in. And we should be putting tax dollars into public housing, education, and healthcare where it is desperately needed.
Imagine if Canada was investing in research and universities, instead of burning everything down.

For months I have noticed bot accounts and right wing reposters complaining about Dearborn, MI and using the city’s name as a sort of racist, anti-immigrant dogwhistle. So I hope the FBI provides more details rather than letting bad assumptions fester.
